English standard

Any experienced parent could tell the English standard of YW?  How is the English class delivered?  In English by local teacher?  Can YW student handle conversation with foreigner?  

I am considering hiring a native English speaker to have private tutoring.

I attended the p.1 parent briefing.

The English teachers are local. They speak English fluently, though not native.

The English lessons will have half class playing drama with a NET, half class reading books. Next quarter, the students will swap the drama and reading activities.

I have the answer myself as my boy started his school with all P.1 boys.

As quoted from Snoopy principal, YW is not an English School.  However, it is a primary school emphasize on English.  there are two NET teachers in school and all P.1 boys had opportunity to have two English classes with NET a week.  

Only English lesson will be delivered in english.  

Beside, could P.2 or above parent share the effectiveness on English class.

For the two days classes so far, I am happy with the existing arrangement to have two teachers overseeing a P.1 class.  Is this a temp arrangement and they will gone in P.2??

Not by surprise, my son said most P.1 kids are bilingual already and exchanged communication with parents fluently in English.

It is all depend on family rather than school.  Most kindergarden taught K1 pupil in English already.

In my son P.1 class(29 pupils), there are more than two chidren uses English as first language.

In some Kindergarden bridging International School, they use English as teaching medium, baby.  

Kids learnt new langauge faster than adult.  YW is DSS now and what is your suprise?
