Dear All,

我哋一家仍在多倫多，9月就回香港啦！ 現正煩緊幫個仔報邊間nursery, kindergarten 及primary school.....
2002年10月出世是否2005年9月入幼兒園nursery， 2006年9月入幼稚園呢 kindergarten?
10月出世喺香港入學係咪好蝕底架？ 我都唔知乜嘢係大仔細仔！ 喺多倫多入學冇這些煩惱 / 挑戰.....
小B Brennan 只識英文，我lum 排 international school 如 ESF 的 waiting list 要排幾年？！  

有冇媽媽知道CWB/Quarry Bay維多利亞Kindergarten / Nursery 好嗎？聽說佢由小學開始用IB curriculum幾好...

重有邊間港島International Kindergarten啱說英語的BB?

Does anyone know any kids studying at Canadian International School in Wong Chuk Hang?  Any comment on this school would be appreciated.

Quarry Bay--it is the  easiest to get in, out of all ESF!

If you want to apply international school for your son such as Canndian International school and Hong Kong international or Chinese I'tel, he has to be in full 4-year before entering to the pre-school in Sept, then he will be promoted directly to Year 1 for the next year. These school don't provide kindergarten course but only 1 or 2 year (depend on the curriculum) prep-sch courses.
For UK-based school such as Chinese and ESF, students enter to Year 1 at the age of 5.
For American-based, students enter to Year 1 at the age of 6.
For Hong Kong traditional based school such as Victoria, students enter to Year 1 at the age of 6.

As far as I know, only KLN Tong Kingston International school provide IB for primary education.
In about 2006, all ESF school will change to use IB for secondary school instead of current UK A-Level.

If you want to choose Victoria, your son can go to its nursery at very early ages. However, it is not an international school but the english standard is very high as it is a private school. In 2006, there is a brand new Victoria English private secondary school in Southern as well !Children start going to primary school at 6 years old

In Hong Kong Island side, there are some another good choices such as

I guess Woodland Mid-Level in Caine Road is better than Woodland Panda Pokfulam in Chi Fu Fa Yuen (which is closer to my future home) because it is a certified Montessori school?  Does ESF schools prefer students from Woodland or Montessori schools or it makes no difference?

Is it true that my son who was born in Oct. 2002 will be entering Primary 1 in Sept. 2007, which means application must be sent by Fall 2006???  
I'm so confused by the HK education system...

Hi Gab,

NO,ESF它沒有特別揀選那間幼稚園學生，只要小朋友懂得用英語溝通便可以。

至於入學小一時間，那要看妳揀選那類學校，若就本港學校，小朋友入學年齡是5歲8個月，若是國際學校：英式是5歲小一，美式是6歲。

We will be in HK in SEPT. and I hope I still have time to submit application for entry to kindergarten in SEPT. 2005 for my now 20-month old son!!!Competition in getting into International Schools is so keen in HK!
