Hi toni,
My daughter is SPK graduate student this year too. I think I prefer an english school than a chinese school. Because when you go into F1, the foundation of english is more good than you from chinese school.
Is your daughter studying in AM section or PM section?

I registered on Tuesday already with SSGPS.  I confirmed with SPCS that they will not cancel my space until they have my written confirmation but they prefer us to inform them latest at the registration date which is around the middle of July.

My daughter has to take the school bus for both schools anyway.  But SSGPS is a little bit closer, but not much.

The only thing I concern is SSGPS is a 中文小學 and Secondary School is a 英文中學.  Also for SSGPS, it is not guarantee for their P6 student to go straight to F1.  But for SPCS, most likely can go straight to F1.

What do you think?

Just called my sister-in-law and here are the answers for your questions:
- You have to be in the same church (聖公會) to get the 5 marks for religion, you cannot get that 5 points even you are Christian but from another church.
- For the past years, most of the P.6 students can get into the Secondary section. There were still some students can't get into it, say 20-25 students each year.
- Even though it's a chinese primary school, the English standard is still high compare to most local primary schools.
- As mentioned before, the pressure from school is still less compare with SPCS , they focus quite alot on extra-curricular activities especially Music.

My daughter is studying in PM section now.  

Till now, I still cannot decide because I have the same concerns as yours. SSG is a Chinese Primary School and an English Secondary School but the percentage to go into University is very high, around 95% and I know quite a lot of friends' daughters are from SSG and their English are very fluent and they also said that their daughters really enjoy studying in SSGPS and have no pressure at all.

If I only have one child and money is not a concern, my choice will be SPCS.
始終我對SPCS有個情意結，我係舊生嘛~~~最衰我只得一個仔，所以個仔入左老公間母校！

Are you planning to have another child in the near future?

Even though toni plans to have another child in the near future, when the small child goes to primary, the elder one has already finished her P.6 education.  Under the current system, the small child is not entitled to secure a school place in her sister’s school.

I think one is enough because I am a working mother and when I back home every night it is already 7pm and I don't have too much time left to review her homework because both SSGPS and SPCS are whole day schools and the school bus came around 7:10am, so the latest she has to sleep around 9pm.  

That's why I want to choose a school with not much pressure and hopefully she can handle by herself.

That is what I am thinking of.  My husband like the environment near Park Road than Causeway Bay because Causeway Bay is always very crowded and has lots of temptation.   Did you agree with me?

Can any BK mommies share their comments on the school life of SSGPS, e.g. english & chinese langugage stardard, students have self-confiendence or are presentable ?  It is a chinese primary school, why the standard of English is high ?
