I saw this in GSIS web before, but now they take out, I also saw it in another Topic call GSIS in this site, you can check, is a mom from GSIS, she post it out..
But  I remember they are doing better and better in this few years...FIS also..you can check their web as well..

As we are on the subject, I looked up some information...

FIS ICGSE results:

76.88% of all the grades awarded were A* or A. 98.27% of all the grades awarded were A* – C
GSIS ICGSE Results

	A*	A* or A	A*-C
	52.4	80.7	98.5

FIS IB Results:

The average number of points was 36.32.

Six students (out of 20) were awarded 40 points or more

CIS IB Results

The average score achieved by those awarded the diploma was 35 points.  17 (out of 101) were awarded 40 points or more

LPCUWC IB Results

The average number of points was 36.68
20% of the students awarded 40 points or above

I can't find ESF's figures but I remember they were outstanding as well.

Based on these figures, I believe all schools in HK are excellent.  There were always comparison between schools and discussions on which school being the "elite" or the best school.  After looking at these numbers, I am surprised at FIS's numbers as it was never profiled as one of the top schools.  By simply looking at the results from both the ICGSE and IB exams, it's quite comparable to GSIS (which was always referred as the best) and LPCUWC.

Just my observation.  All of these IS are very good academically and we should rest assured that our children are getting quality education, regardless which one they are in.

To my knowledge, the British University get the marks from the examination board to find out who are better even with same grade (as a lot of students get straight As ie quite easy to get straight As fro all subjects). A more fair comparsion is to check how many can get to oxbridge, MIT, Standford University..etc

I think it is more fair to look at IB results rather than no. of students getting into Oxford etc.  It is not easy to get good IB scores.

For Universities, there are so many factors leading to different students choosing different universities - their career goals, interests, nationalities, financial budgets etc. etc.

this is when they talk about a level, that is why there is cambridge pre-u this year. they also consider IB.

Wyom, I agreed IB can be use as a standard for measurement but not all international school are follow IB.
