Are you asking about Putonghua, or English, or both?

Chinese is taught in Cantonese, at least in higher grades. But I also heard that Chinese is (or will be) taught in Putonghua in some lower grades (or particular classes). This may be a pioneering plan, as the EDB has said it's the future direction for all schools. My daughter is already at P.6, so I don't know much details.

As for your question about the standard of English, I can only say that HYPS puts much emphasis on the standard of English. My daughter was transferred into HYPS in P.4 from a rather popular subsidized primary school in Taipo. My observation is that HYPS indeed has a higher standard of English.

Hi NT27,

小女今年讀三年級，她在一、二年級都是用廣東話上中文課，直到二年級學期尾，學校就派通告問我們來年三年級會否選普通話來上中文課，當然最終由校方安排是否比你個女入普通話班啦(因為我知有些家長選咗但都入唔到)，佢哋會响上中文課時分班，三班(甲、乙和丙班)的學生會分為H、Y、P (好似仲有S班)，當中只有H班响上中文課時’煲冬瓜’。

至於英文程度，我就比唔到comment，因為我唔知其他學校的程度，不過cheungll的睇法很值得參考，佢對協恩的認識很深入。

係呢，你囡囡係咪讀緊協恩呀？

我的小女不是協恩的學生，但希望來年插班現在想了解多些有関課程的進度 , 不過很多謝恊恩的家長幫忙。
