I want to know more about this school too (though I have scheduled for a school visit next week) as my son has just been accepted for K1 next year and deposit is required by end of next week!!

Most of them are foreign teachers.  For those of the teachers who are Chinese, they speak very fluent English just like native speakers.

How about the classmate, are they foreigner student or
chinese. Do they have a better discipline than the normal
internation school.

Also I want to know do they have many homework like
some traditional school ??

My two sons are studying in KCIS. The elder one is in Year 5 & the younger one is in Reception (Am) & Main stream (Pm) class. Perhaps I can share my experience to you.

For kindergarten, no homework at first yr & only 1-2/pages of writing every week at 2nd yr. No birthday party in the school but has 1-2 times of picnic every yr.

More than 80% of children are Chinese. They are banned to speak Cantonese in class.

Some teachers are "竹星仔". They will not speak Cantonese although they know it. Most of teachers are friendly

My sons are studying very happy and without any pressure.

How about your elder son?? Is he enjoy study there too?? Heavy homework??? or just like other international
school, less homework but encourge them to read books???

Perhaps I need to clarify. At 1st year of KG, sometimes has homework as drawing some lines or dotting on the paper. Usually, 1 or 2 times every week only. At 2nd yr, also 1 or 2 pages of simply writing only.

For elder son, . he had studied a famous traditional primary school before. He has changed to KCIS since 9/2007.
My whole famly has a dramatic change during this change. Our home atmosphere is much improved. My son said he hasn't been blamed so much now. The load of homework is 1/8 of the old school. The teacher only encouage him to read the story book and need to dictate 10 english words every week.

My son is in P.1 now.  He has very little homework.  Only Chinese writing on every Wed and Fri, and sort of simple English worksheets during long holidays.  I would say that the volume is quite insignificant.  After all, the kids are just 5 years old when they are in P.1.

請問小學畢業後，若想轉回 local 中學，她/他們的程度可以嗎？
英文相信無問題，但中文會否不及local schoo 未呢？ 因同事跟我講，學校都表示過小學畢業生的中文程度大概只有local小學的小四。 所以日後轉回想 local 中學可能會有困難。

有無有畢業生家長可有經驗或分享？

我個小朋友今年9月都讀P1拉, 請問佢地lunch time有幾耐同學校會點安排的? 有無小息時間? Thanks!

According to the class teacher, the lunch time is from 1200 to 1230.  My son also told me that he had enough time for taking lunch.

You can either bring your lunch box, or you can make the order from school.  

I don't know whether they have recess time, but pretty sure they have play time.

Can anyone tell me the study atmosphere there, especially among junior year classes, say Yr 1 or 2?  Do they need to read lots of books or do much homework?  Thanks.

They are assigned to read Oxford Reading Trees.  The class teacher provides the kids with an appropriate level of story book of Oxford Reading Trees every 3-4 days.  It is expected that the kids would read the book at home.

I can't tell the atmosphere of study, as I am not present at the class.
