You're right.
Just to clarify a bit: as parent, my role is to facilitate my kids to learn/study independently. I act as facilitators/tutors, not feeder.
In the community, sometimes readers misunderstand that kids with significant progress are unhappily forced by parents. For some families like mine (and Ben2003 as well, judging from his past sharing (his kids played video game at exam!)), it's not the case. Parent is tired, but kids are learning and progressing happily most of time, and asking for more sometimes. My kid went out to play during exam/test preparation period. That's why I found parents' management and tutoring are crucial for academic improvement.
The kids are happy. Don't worry. You're right. Happiness is crucial element for sustainable learning.
