Hi everyone, I am new in here.  My son just got offer from TSL.  We are so surprised for their acceptance and registered right away.  But I missed the orientation on 12 July.  Could anyone advise any important matters announced on that day?

red swimming cap - buy your own.  brands incl. arena, nikko, speedo, lots of other brands.

swim suit / trunks - can be any colour

white PE shoes - can have some colour / cartoon character but major part should be white.

white shoes =/= white PE shoes

知你頭痛緊個女的書包, 我認為細細粒就千祈唔好買有wheels的書包, 又重又大, 會仲辛苦.  我個女都係p2先用有wheels書包.  個仔唔算細粒, 所以我先至考慮用.
我都想去書展睇下有冇書包賣(如果到時仲未買的話). 記得舊年好似有,但很少款, 唔多.

For shopping parents :

Material you need to buy for visual arts lessons :
safety scissors (buy the one with blunt head, and edge should not be too sharp)
24-colour wooden colour pencils
oil pastel (anything from 8 colours up, buy the fatter thicker ones, not the thinner ones cos these break too easily)
if you can find it, buy an apron / sleeves set to wear over uniform
need to bring a plastic sheet or large sheet to protect the school desk

Have you seen their desks in the classroom ?
Approx that size should do, or size of a folded newspaper approx 40cm x 60 cm.  Just imagine they need to protect the desk and themselves.

Sometimes they go to another room, sometimes stay in their own classroom woh.

我買過"金洋"----o.k.  , 李炳記----較平, 寶蓮-----較貴,但某些質地好d. (如夏天外套, 寶蓮最好).

table mat 要買2塊,  1 塊 for lunch, 1 塊for art lesson. 去日本城 hk$10塊果d. 你買左白鞋未呀, 我未買, 因好多間都斷碼.

uniform - I usually buy from 金洋, material OK, incl the 夏天外套 (Tingmum, maybe I need to take a look at your kids' and check for quality before I buy this next time).
But the trousers for boys are quite tight, does not fit my piglet, so I go to 金輪 in flower market for the X size ones, material good.

red windbreaker - becos the school asked 李炳記 to make the first batch back in 2006, I got this from 李炳記.  But need to buy again this year cos the zip is damaged.  (My kid unzips by force !!)  This one can be worn instead of school blazer.  ie no need to buy school blazer, unless your kid is on a school team and needs to represent the school in some activity.  I heard that one of the suppliers made this windbreaker in the wrong design last year.

white shoes - I bought this from 步陞, which is located near 金輪.  Leather upper, rubber sole, ~$199.  Lots of sizes, the toe area is quite wide.

Remember to sew on name labels, or use permanent marker to write name, on ALL items, incl socks and shoes.

I studied the price list from different suppliers and found that they are very tricky. Some may be the pant is cheaper but the shirt is more expensive and it depends on the size.
Anyhow, I bought it in Po Lam and then I found that it's the most expensive especially for the small size.
For the white shoe (boy), I bought it in Wing On (YMT one) and it only costs $127.2.
By the way, tomorrow there will be a bazzar from Trendyland in World Commercial Centre. I'll go there for hunting the stationary (my office is very near there).
Tingma, what's the size of the table mat? is it the one we used for having the meal, a little bit bigger than A4 size?
