We got offers from Raimondi, St Stephen and St Paul Boys.  For St Joseph, we got 20 marks.  Assuming we got offer also from St Jo, which school will you take ?  Please rank.

If I got offer from St Jo, I think I will register St Jo cos my younger son could get straight in several years later.  I will not be so headache by then !

My problem is if my son's name is not on St Jo's list, I think I will register one DSS/private school instead of waiting until June 2008.  Too long for me !

唔好咁挑剔啦, 就算點好既學校, 個學生讀唔上又或者讀得唔開心都無用啦~ 我有個 auntie 個仔讀咗間超級名校但成績好差, 依家佢成日都同人講尼間超級名校都有垃圾

其實我地已經好好運, 有得選擇, 有好多小朋友只可以指望大抽獎咋

If you got offer from St Jo, will you register one DSS for 後備? 好煩?

As far as I know, if I register St Jo and then register another DSS, the place for St Jo will be cancelled once Education Bureau received admission notice from the DSS.  Therefore, no fall back.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

the equation is

Good school + good student + good parents = ??? the chance to be success

Good School + good student + not good parents = ??? the chance to be success

Good school + not good student + super parents = ??? the chance to success

no matter what are the composit.  we are only talking about the chances to be success.  why spend so many hours and effort to ask other net friends.  Ask your spouse, ask your child and ask the teacher.

If you want a good school just to show off, bad approach.

Look at the 14 years old girl who are now studying in CU, can you tell me her name and her secondary school in 2 seconds.  99.99% can't la.  

Spend time to understand your child, then to yourself then to the school before you make your own choice.

St.Stephen is my chooice then St Paul.

Both two schools are good for BOY with time for kid to develop his interest.  St. Stephen is very strong in Language.
I have a friend's son in P6, maybe he is the only one can promote to DBS.  So their standard is high too.

St Joseph and Rxx are push style.  It is sure parents feel 'Pressure' by his daily homework.

Congradulation for having so many offers! It is sure a difficult pick. I think I will choose St. Paul Boys first. 百年老店嘛.

For Raimondi vs. St. Stephen, these two are very different styles, and both are good schools. I believe with good support from parents, the difference will not be too much. I would choose Raimondi because Raimondi is in Wanchai District, 中學校網好, 升中時有較多選擇, unlike St. Stephen in 南區 not much other choices.

For Raimondi vs St. Joseph, I face similar problem. I have applied 華仁, and also have 20 分. 因 Raimondi 最遲要26日註冊, we have only several hours to decide after 華仁放榜.

Can anyone give me suggestion 華仁 vs Raimondi?
