would you pls let me have the contents of waiting list.
I have received the letter mentioning " we are unable to offer a place but your application form will be kept until Sept 2008" Is it a rejection letter or waiting list letter. Please advise. Many thanks.

Thank you for applying to our school for a J.C.1(2008-2009) place. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer your son a place at St.Paul's Colleage Primary School at this stage. However,if you wish your son's application to be re-considered when any successful applicant gives up his place,please fill in the reply slip below and return it to our school office on 23-NOV,2007 Friday. In doing so,your son's name will be placed on the first Batch Waiting List. You are also welcome to attend our briefing session.

小兒也收到 Waiting List 信。翻看該校收生準則：

(1) 兄長在聖保羅書院或小學就讀  -- 20 分 ；
(2) 父 / 母全職在聖保羅書院或小學工作  -- 20 分；
(3) 父 / 母為聖保羅書院校董會成員  -- 20 分；
(4) 父 / 母或兄長為 ...

剛發現本人搞錯了，原來首 5 項只計算其中一項分數，故不是佔 70% 而只是最多佔  50 分中的 20 分。對不起 !!!

We are also admitted last year without any relation, my boy is in P1 now.  So I think the 20 marks given by headmistress are crucial.

Agreed.

We have no connection with St. Paul's Boys.  My boy is also accepted.  I believe St. Paul's is more fair one.  It lists down the marking scheme exactly, not majority % for related parties and minority % for unrelated parties and not disclosing what is related and what is unrelated.
