之前我2個女都係讀樂基,大女讀樂基時考到St.catherine's轉咗過去,细女時都唔想轉,因嗰邊無乜普通話,點知佢第一年有英普,細女考到,所以又轉咗去,响我心目中,樂基和SC都係一所很好的學校,而SC係名氣較大。

My girl is doing N1 in Keen Mind.  Both her and me love the school.  She can speak reasonable English and Mandarin.  And the teachers are quite caring.  In the first 3 weeks when the school started, I received calls almost every day from the teachers to tell me how my daughter was doing in class.  Quite impressive.

I also heard good things about HKPS and St. Cat.

How and when did u apply for transfer? I mean when your daughter finished K1 or in the middle of the school term, etc?

Did your daughter study in HKPS international class or local stream class?

any difference for local stream class or international class for primary allocation?

Can anyone tells me about what to choose btw these two school for 2 years old class and K1 ??

I faced the same question last year.  Time flies:

I chose Keen Mind finally and am very happy with it.  My girl is in international class (1 Chinese teacher and 1 native English teacher plus 2 other assistants in the class).  Mandarin lesson every week.  Teachers are caring and keep contact with parents constantly.

But the curriculum is not easy.  They start learning English letters, Chinese characters, reading books and there's a 3-page homework every week (My daughter loves doing homework and asks me for homework everyday).

There are projects from time to time, school picnic, parties, optional Saturday classes.  So get prepared that you'll be busy.  But honestly I think all the activities are fun and provide good opportunities for parents to get in touch with the school and other parents.  The kids can also learn in a fun way.

So it all depends on what kind of Nursery u r looking for.

I heard that HKPS has moved but not sure.

I am very impressed with Yelv's sharing of hkps.   do you know their p1 allocation ?  I heard some went to DBS and Alliance primary.

I have heard that HKPS teaches Maths both in chinsee and english. is it correct ? if so, that will be great for primary selection. Not only can choose English primary .

My son studied K3 in international class of HKPS (Kln Tong).
The teachers are 1 Mandarin, 1 English  and 1 assistant.
The class size is about 20 this year.
All the kids are required to speak Mandarin / English in class (even they talk to the kids themselves).  Thus, all the kids can speak fluent Mandarin and English.  
The moms of my class tell me their kids are all accepted by some direct subsidy schools, e.g. Wong Kam Fai School, ICQM..etc.   
However, as the recruitment excerises of DBSPD and Choy Kai Yau and some other schools are still in progress. no results of the P1 allocation can be shared at the moment.

Hi Mommykan, thx for your useful info!  My son is studying 2 yrs class at HKPS but accepted by SC and KV for 08/09 K1.  I like HKPS very much but I also like SC's wellknown and long history!  I won't choose KV coz my son likes speaking Eng, creative and active.  However, I'm still think the pros and cons between HKPS and SC.  I quite have confidence for my son but all I'm concerning is SC and HKPS's P1 result...
