How was your interview today?
We just went this morning, feeling very nervous now...

Hi EthanMama and Snowball,

Can you share how was your first interview?  How's the
format and how long did it take?

I haven't heard received any letter for the first interview
yet.

You can also talk with your views about education. I think the headmistress is seeking the one with the same views with her.

For my experience, my husband talked much with the headmistress. They talked about school policy, religions and even how to preserve the monument because the school campus of Kennedy Road has been stated as monument.

We talked about 45 minutes and my son was finally accepted by the school.

Thanks so much for being so helpful and sharing. I wish my hudsband and I could make as intelligent a conversation as you and your husband's. But the reality is, I tend to talk too much and my husband doesn't feel comfortable talking to strangers

May I ask you whether your son was an big child or small child when you applied? My son is a small child, he was born in November. I always wonder the chances of him being accepted by SPCC as a small child. I actually am thinking about taking him to another KG to repeat K3 and apply as a big child a year later. What do you think?

My son is a big child and born in January 2001 but I have no idea of the school policy about the acceptance of big child or small child.

Last year, I remembered that I dressed like administrative look with suit and long trousers. My husband wore suit also because he needed to get back to his office.

When comparing with other parents, some of them even dressed a bit casual but they wore long trousers or dresses.

I've just received the invitation letter last night and we will attend the interview on 2.10.2007.

They will get the documents from the parents first, then the kid go inside by himself.

I asked my son and he said he played cards and building blocks then talk to teachers, then to the headmistress.

I wonder if all children get to talk to the headmistress cos' some of them come out very fast.

Any other parents have already gone to the interview?
How long did your kid stay inside?

There is a notice in the school saying the result will be released in Nov. Does it mean notice of 2nd Int or notice of acceptance?

My son also required to interview with the headmistress, together with my husband and me. However, the headmistress just only talk to us. No questions were asked to my son.

My B girl is also P.1.  Still need some time to adjust from kindergarten to primary school.
The school likes smart kids.  The most important thing will be whether your boy can sit and concentrate on something for some tens minutes.  It will be tested during 2nd interview.  (Parents talk with principal but kid just sits there for some tens minutes!  Principal said she would observe kids behaviour during 2nd interview.)

My C girl is picking up.  We are encouraging her to talk more.  Thank you!
