If your child is (or will be) studying in an IS, there is really no need to buy these books. The school usually provide these books (ie Oxford Reading Tree) on loan to children.

In IS, the school will usually at most provide a daily English reading book from the class and one or two books per week from its library.  

It is far less than enough  ...

I was talking about the Oxford Reading Tree per se. Many ISs have the Oxford Reading Tree books as class reading materials. The children will be taking them home to read. So it is really a waste if parents are buying the same books they would be getting on loan from the school anyway. Honestly, I do not think the Oxford Reading Tree books are really worth collecting/owning. If parents are to buy books, they might consider OTHER books and not the Oxford Reading Tree.  IS children read SO MANY books. You just cannot possibly own all of them. I would only buy those that I think really worth collecting. This is just my views. Of course, if people still want to own the whole set, that is up to them to decide.
