Last year, the school will ask parents to buy a small numeric lock for locking, say 3-digits one. Kids are ok to manage it. However, don't know whether this will be the case for this year as someone said that the locks are no more used later in the year.

請問開學後, 他們的書包會很重嗎? locker 可放什麼???? 仲有是否 23/8 要把所有書本拿回家? (家長日那天訂購的)

The school bag is quite heavy although the lockers may be used for storing some books not in use, like song book and visual arts materials...

The new books of course should be brought back to home unless you get the books on Aug 24.
