It's open day this Sat., too bad I have to work and maybe unable to take Preston by myself. Preston told me that they don't have to perform this time, is that true? Anyway, it must be fun for the kids.

Dear moms,
Preston just stopped art class in Oct coz there are too many courses I want him to take and sometimes choices need to be made. Preston doesn't seem to like art very much (although he got a price earlier) and I want him to have some rest days. He's a bit tired this week after stopping naptime at school.

Preston doesn't like to nap for a few months at home. Since starting full-day, he still tried to nap but Miss Jill told me that he couldn't. (The naptime is too early for him 1:00pm after lunch which he used to sleep at 3pm at home). Since he can't sleep, he can do other activites with kids that do not sleep (Chun Hei has the same problem b4). They do some group games, chess, Japanese (he knows how to count 1-10 in Japanese), drawing, reading, etc... So the kids like the activities a lot more than nap.

Preston loves to role play. He's always the 'teacher' and 'doctor Leung' and daddy is the student and patient and I'm usually the student and the nurse. Recently he likes to role play full-day school in which he said is different from half-day.

Congratulations! Brian must be excited to see his sister for real! What's your little daughter's name? She must be a tough and strong girl.

Dear all,
I went to Stanley yesterday and it's great. There was a function organised by Satnard Chartered bank called 'Art in the plaza'. There were dancing performance and lots of different high school students making some art work. Preston made a lot of different art work, e.g. a dream catcher, a chime, a little T-shirt which you iron your own drawings.... He really enjoyed it. Too bad it only organized once a year.

Nice name. Brian will feel very close to her sister. It's a very good method and I'm sure Brian will love her sister and be good companion. So nice to have a son and a daughter.

Dear moms,
The kids really enjoyed the party. They got lots of candies. Preston doesn't eat candies but just likes to collect them. It's so funny there were 2 spider men that day (Preston & Davin).

Glad to know that Brian likes his little sister very much, maybe Brian is a lot older so he knows how to take care of little sister. If they're closer in age, siblings will argue and fight more. One method is to praise the good one instead of scolding the naughty one. The naughty will immediatley get better.

I'll let Preston wear an extra vest so even if he doesn't cover with blanket, he's still warm. But usually kids get quite hot when sleep (Preston sweats a lot even with only pjamas and a vest on).
Preston likes his full-day class very much. also. I found him knowing a lot more people than I thought, from schoolbus, full-day class... He always meet someone he knows at our estate and i have no idea who they are (he even knows the parents!)

Why not let Davin take full-day? He misses his friends plus they learn some self-care skills and art work, games in the afternoon.

You can let Brian take full-day class so your maid and your mom can have more time taking care of the little baby.

There is a Japanese teacher who mostly assist the Japanese students. But my son learns some Japanese recently in full-day class.
The school fee includes all the party fees and outings. You only pay the school bus fee for school picnic.
If your son gets into N1, there is a priorty to get into K1 class. Most students speaks cantonese, but they will speak English with kids that don't speak cantonese and to the English teachers.
Overall, I have no regrets to let my son study at LH and my son likes going to school very much.

I needed to make some effort to rearrange his ECA when he started full-day this year and switch some courses to weekends. But nothing is perfect, something need to give up. But so far he's taking 2 courses over weekdays night and 2 over Sat. So far so good. Preston will be very excited if Davin and Brian take full-day class.

Maybe K3 is another good chance for Davin and Brian to switch to full time.  They will study full time in Primary school so they can prepare themselves for it earlier.

I understand your concern. Preston sleeps very early (goes to be at 9:00) but since I'm usually home by 6pm, I have enough time to play with him. But not my husband coz he's usually comes back at ~8pm. But I think quality is the better than quantity. Preston will finish homework after school so I just check his homework and can just play with him. Also, we spend the whole day with him on Sunday, so I don't really find that's a big issue even after going full-day.
Preston's piano class is at 8:00 and only half and hour and Mandarin teacher comes to our home once a week at 6:30, so far so good. Although he gets a bit tired than the other days, so only 2 days a week he can class, others are on Sat.

Don't worry and get upset about the emotion, coz Brian will affect by your emotion. Preston also got emotional b4, but he got a lot better when he gets older. Or I also let Preston takes EQ course so as to improve his EQ (actually I sometimes take some courses as well to improve my EQ so I can deal with him easier)

If the kids don't nap, they will do other activities like playing games, chess, Japanese, painting, reading story books... You can ask the school for more details.

It's referred from some BK mom and she's from Bejing. She's very nice and Preston really likes her (even from the 1st lesson). We share with another kid (next block friend) and is $250/hr for 2 kids. If one kid, it's $170/hr, slightly higher that outside (usually $150/hr).

Preston also asked me to stay too. He practiced piano and went to the park. Then when I called him in the afternoon, he told me he's doing housework. He helped my maid to fold the clothes and wipe the floor. He enjoys doing housework (for fun)

Where does Brian learn piano? Cheuk Yan and Preston has the same piano teacher.

Preston used to call me more a few months ago but less recently. It's so funny that he talked to anyone who picked up the phone and kept talking and talking without asking who he wanted to talk to. Sometimes me or my collegues needed to figure out who's kid was on the phone.(I have a few collegues who have kids at similar age)

Preston is not too keen on drawing (maybe my husband and I hate drawing) but most of the time he'll draw something I don't understand. Anyway, I'll let him take drawing class again next year if the schedule allows.

I used to speak bilingual(every sentence I said it twice, once in English and once in Cantonese) before 2 years old. But now I mostly speak Cantonese. My son's english and chinese are both pretty good. He can switch from one language to another and speak to my maid fluently.

We went to elements a couple weeks ago, but the shops are not suitable for kids (or me). Where is the playground?

Dear all,
We went to the Government flying service open day yesterday. It's great and Preston was so excited to see the planes close (just next to the runway) and a lot of shows suitable for kids. We had a really good time and very, very tired. He went to sleep at 8:30pm last night.

We'll go to the school picnic and Preston also has swimming class, I'm just wondering if he should miss it or go a bit later.

The last GFS open day was 2 years ago so I don't know if they do that every year or not. Also, this time you needed to get tickets in advance ( my friends got extra for us).
BTW, where is the holiday farm?
