Dear all ICS parents

Today just received a announcement from ICS, ICS has been officially awarded a six year accreditation (july 1, 2007 to June 30, 2013) by the International Accreditation commission of ACSI.

Does any parents know the ACSI, what is the standard of this ACSI? Does any HK IS have this ACSI? Where we can find the details of this ACSI?
Pls. help! Thanks

ACSI stands for "Association of Christian Schools International".  You can find out more on their website http://www.acsi.org.  At the moment, only ICS is accredited in Hong Kong.

ACSI stands for Association of Christian Schools International.

Under ACSI's accreditation, there are 3 ISs in HK as shown below.

The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) strives to enable and equip Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively educate children and young people with the mind of Christ. The life and mind of Christ is nurtured in the lives of students through redemptive relationships with faculty who recognize that reconciling the heart and mind to God is the foundation of their work.

To this end ACSI seeks to equip schools for greater effectiveness, year after year. The many programs and services they offer are intended to enrich the teaching of Truth—God’s Word revealed through Scripture as well as through creation. They seek to increase the vision for students’ intellectual development through Christian faculty who model a rigorous Christian mind in their teaching and leading. They believe that schools can increasingly achieve their vibrant mission as their operational practices grow in excellence.

ACSI's rigorous accreditation process is vital to moving schools toward maturity and increasing effectiveness. Available for grades P–12, ACSI accreditation is nationally recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation, by numerous states, and by most regional accrediting bodies.

ACSI believes that Christian schools exist to support parents in fulfilling their biblical responsibility to educate children. It is our intent not to define each school’s philosophy but to provide a starting point, a framework consisting of five essential elements—truth, intellectual development, Christian educators, potential in Christ, and operational integrity—upon which you can build and implement a philosophy for your own Christian school.
