BTW, when kids promote from P1 to P2, they will be slot according to their exam results, i.e. Top of the school will be with Class 2A, 2nd up will be Class B, 3rd will be Class C ...

BTW, is there anyone have idea if P1 student need to access computer for searching information?  I mean, do I have to get a seperate PC for my kid while he is with P1?

It's ain't compulsory and it had nothing to do with St. Joe.

My kid joined another swimming class.  As for 海天, they have a number of courses running at Morrison Hill Swimming Pool.  Why don't u go over there and have a look.  As far as I can remember, 10 odd kids with 2 - 3 teachers in a swimming pool and without a designation lane for training.  So, you can imagine that they are using a pool, while sharing with others, trying to teach the kids how to swim.  Sounds not a good idea to me.

Let me say that again, I have nothing to deal with 海天.  And as I've said, by all means, have a look at Morrison Hill and see it for yourself.

About the socks, I understand that the only requirement is to have a pair of white.  Still, how many of u are using SJPS white socks?  My son told me that they have to put on SJPS socks and if not, teachers will take actions   .  Any ideas?

Yee.......have you attended the briefing for parents held in July?  Principal Ms Leung has clearly said that only white socks with SJPS logo are allowed.

I did, and so was my wife.  But we thought that she said one socks were OK and SJPS was only an option.  

Anyhow, I dropped a call to school yesterday and asked the teacher to return the d--n call but to no avail.

For the past few days, my kids always brough his workbook to school.  Does he really need to?  Or would the teacher remind them in class (definatelly not on his assignment book)?  It is so heavy for them to carry it everyday.  

By the way, how about the "Steps to better grammar"?  Does he have to carry it as well (for Eng. class)?

Seems some of the classes will collect the student's workbooks, but my son's class didn't.

No, no, no.  Just those subjects that he have to attend on that day.  Still, I personally find that it is way too heavy for a 6 years old kid.  What makes me further frustrate is that the good old grammar book     I don't expect that they will use it anytime soon.  Yet, teachers don't bother tell the kids if they would need it on the next day or so

Seems we all face the same issue (1A and 1F).  What I will do tonight is that I'm gonne to drop a note on the assignment book and ask the teacher to clarify it

Seems all PE teachers need two sessions to brief all the rules.  Yesterday, my kid have his third lesson on PE and they were, at last, allow to run around.

I have checked with the school.  They said the parents will meet the headmaster in the hall first and then will see the class teacher in the classroom.  They wish only on parent to attend the gathering; otherwise, there won't be sufficient seats.

In fact, I've also found the Chinese teacher is, how should I put it, only follow their "standard" according to the publisher.

好想知道你仔仔每晚花多少時間做功課?兩個鐘夠未? 是否每晚都需要搵書? 不計默書,考試!有沒有做kumom ?

Didn't spend much time with Internet these days as being engaged with office work.

For the VA, kids at 1F didn't have their master piece returned.  God knows how much he had scored.  At least I have one less subject to worry.

My kid usually spend two to two and a half hrs on his homework and usually leave him alone and let him to do it by himself.  Turns out I have to erase 2/3 of his homework and had it redo again.  I'm sure that it waste a lot of our time (kid and mine).  Yet, I hope by such practice, leaving him alone, he could, before summer break, take care of all his homework by himself.

Kid have couple of activities and all of them spend an hour per week.  That's include soccer, swimming, piano and Putungwah.  And yes, he had to attend mass on every Sunday.  Fully packed?  Depends.  

As for the upcomming quiz, my kid told me that teachers will read the questions to them so that they (students) have ideas what's it all about.  So, I guess that's a relief for some of us.  It's really lucky that the quiz only drag for a week and not being extend to next week.

May all of them tried their very best on the quiz.

Can't b sure but seems everyone got it as long as they behave.  

Besides, there's a subject performance reward, which will be given to top three students of each subject for each class, i.e. Chinese, English, Maths and ... er, "general knowledge".  It's just a card with student name, the subject and signature of the Principal.

Actually, I think it is good to send out more awards, it is a kind of encouragement. They are very happy to r ...

I've asked my kid how many awards for each subject had been distributed but my kid said that he had no idea.  Still, to the best of my knowledge, it should be three.  Each card should bear different colors so that you can tell whether he is top first, second and third.

In that case, I don't think it'll count (marks).  Yes, my kid have to prepare newspaper cutting - all they have to do is to tell, in front of the class, the name of the newspaper and the date.  Surelly though, I've told the kid what's that news all about, in case something pop-up.

But I'm wondering, how many words or page you have to prepare for the assignment, "my family"?
