in our letter CKY also mentions that they are negotiating a new school premiese.

depending how you interpret it ... my interpretation is that there could be another temp school location, different from the one in Shum Shi Po.

whether it is only for P1 or for the whole school is my question.

When you think about it, the temp school location is also very important.  Our kids will be studying there for the next 2 to 3 years, depending on the construction progress (which usually delays). That is a long time, and I would want my kid to have a safe, clean, and well equiped environment to study. If we get the acceptance, this will be my only hesitation in choosing CKY.

Me too. I got the same feeling. Location is my only concern. I was very disappointed when I received the letter that I need to wait until after Christmas to find out the result. It made me feel that my kid's chance of being admitted is low. Is there anyone who is being accepted already? As they mentioned "some" will get the result after Christmas, does that imply that "some" will receive the result on Dec 15???

What a long and frustrating process!!!

It does sound like some people may get a confirmation good/bad before Christmas, while others have to wait.

Also seems that they are interviewing many kids for 2nd interview, unlike other schools where most kids were filtered at the 1st interview.

CKY did call us to have a 2nd interview but we already got a place in  my dream school so we didn't show up finally.  As I know, most of my daughter's classmates were also invited for 2 nd in.  I think all of us got the same letter!

I dont' like the temp location of the school, if they already got the new campus next year, I will definily join it..but now I need to think about it...

Hi DorisTsang,

I am getting sick of the long wait, and I think most parents feel the same too. And now there is the added unknown factor of another temp school location. The school fee is not cheap, and for that money our kids are only getting an old, run-down, temp school campus for the next few years.

I am also having 2nd thoughts about this school. If my son gets accepted by DBSPD this week, I will give up on CKY.  I suppose if more people think like me, it'll be quite easy to get into CKY this year. Good luck to you all.

Something to share :

I have been to the temporary campus to take a look.  It is next to a very wide but quiet road, next to a bus terminus.  It has a number of schools, churches and clinics nearby.   It therefore feels reasonably safe.

The school has a large Annex currently being renovated/rebuilt by the government.  I guess the main campus will also be renovated a bit before moving in.
Only thing is transport is not very convenient.

My feeling is that it won't be much worse off than the current school location at Caldecott Road.

Yes, but the school now says that they are considering a 2nd temp school.  Does anyone know where that is?  Hope it is not worse than the currently announced temp campus.

Our (hope to be a 2007 Y1 student's parents) information is came from the letter which recd last friday........ It stated CLEARLY that they are considering an alternate campus for Year 1 which will be more suitable......so, they have decided to postpone mailing out the results.....

We would like to know more information from CKY's member also.  Thank you.

I think the letter means that the school will be moving to a temp campus in the coming year, and the location should be next to So Uk Estate.  Please be assured that the school will not (can't) move to another place without notifying the existing parents.  Regards.

Yes yes....of course not move to another place without prior notice.  But all of us know the temp campus in Kwong lee road already.  The reason to postpone the result is that the other alternative choice is not confirm yet.  They would like to announce the 'alternative choice' together with the result after christmas........anyway, we will know that later.... Thank you very much for your info.
