By the way, Brian joined the first Gym class last Saturday.  He was so excited and he loves the class so much.  However, he was attracted by the small ball pool.  He just couldn't help rushing to it during every free play time.  When I asked him to try other apparatus, he said he wanted to go ball pool first.  ha!

What's more.  Cheuk Yan also joined the same class.  When they saw each other, they screamed so happily.  How lovely it was to see the two kids holding hands and talk.

See your point.  I did not buy the set but bought some other VCDs for my son to watch at home.  He loves watching those VCDs & not quite interested in watching TV programs.  It's good.

Was Cheuk Yan in PNB last year ?  My son also likes ball pool a lot.

Would want to tell you that my son did keep reading the flash cards these days.  He may not be learning them all immediately.  Believing that repetition is the way to get things remembered for kids, I will keep the job.

So nice to hear that Brian loves gym. If Preston knows Cheuk Yan is there, he may want to join too. One more thing I did not choose my gym is because of the ball pool. Every time Preston played in the ball ball chee, he got sick(3 times). One time even had fever >40C for almost 2 weeks. So I was horrified by the ball ball chee.

Cheuk Yan was in PNB last year, but Preston said he was naughty? and did not like to play with him. However, this year Cheuk Yan is one of his best friends (beside Davin, Brian and Veron). Kids do change a lot

Cheuk Yan was in PNB last year and he is now in K1B.

Brian's progress in learning English words is alright.  He could recognize four words last week.  I tried to choose some words like 'ball', 'car', etc, just to arouse his interest in learning.

For TV programs.  Brian used to nap in the afternoon, the time for kids' programs.  He will only spend some time in watching TV series with us in the evening.

It's true that ball ball chee is not an ideal place for kids (although they love it so much, ha!)  I brought Brian to the ball ball chee in JumpinGym two weeks ago.  I saw a large patch of vomit next to a slider.  I guess kids didn't realize what it was.  Some of them might even have stepped on it.  So disgusting.

Did you go to the Jumpin Gym in Whampoa  ? Wow, so disgusting.  Did someone tell the staff to clean it up ?

As a role model, I don't really watch TV at night before he goes to sleep except watching VCDs with my son.  And, I don't like him watching TV program at night.  It's doing no good to him.  That's why I try not to go out during weeknight.  If so, my son will end up sleeping in grandparents' bed & watching TV with grandma.

I heard similar thing about Jumping gym, so I would never take him there. Of course they love going there but I just try to avoid taking him to ball ball chee.

Same as Brian, Preston naps in the afternoon which has Sesame Street on TV and he usually misses it. Usually, he'll watch VCD while my maid is preparing lunch for him. And at night we usually watch TV after dinner. I like watching TV and sometimes he'll watch with me. But usually turn off at 8:30 before he goes to sleep.

The reason why I asked for good TV program is that we may record it & let kid watch anytime he likes.  Sometimes, the VCD titles for sale are not that good.  And, I have bought quite a lot for my son.  Would like to know for program that I can record for free.

The JumpinGym I mentioned is the one in Whampoa.  When I told Brian that there was some vomit next to the slider, he said he wanted to take a look.  (Yuck!)

Some came to clean the place about 5 minutes after I saw the stuff.  It's strange that he didn't wear any plastic gloves.  So 'brave'.

Brian likes Sesame Street very much.  I am not sure if it is still on show in the afternoon.  See if Davin likes it.

For my family, it's difficult to switch off the TV at night.  My Mom likes the TV series.  She has been working hard for the family in day-time so I think I should let her watch TV while we are having dinner at night.

海逸校的媽媽, my son is studying at the 凱帆校. Did you receive a catalog of LETTERLAND Phonics yesterday? I wonder if you will order anythings from them. It seems quite expensive. I am not sure how much does the school cover now. I will try to find out on the parent meeting on Friday night.

I tried to raise a topic for the Tsing Yi and Hoi Fan school several times, but seem like not that any LH parents are BK visitors.

My son also studying same school(凱帆校) as your son.  I also checked if any forum for K1 of learning habitat (凱帆校) since 2 days but seems there is  no one to talk this topic, I'm happy to know you're one of mum there.  I will go to parent meeting this Friday too, so would like to meet you there.

I'm not sure if the parent meeting for HL campus is the same as ours held earlier.  I think so.  If so, they will talk about the syllabus & what kid will learn each year.

As for Letterland stuff, we did receive the catalog some time ago.  I guess you don't need to buy a lot.  Maybe CD at this moment.  As for storybook, you may consider at a later stage.  Or, you may borrow from the library.

Btw, I've also got a friend whose son studying in K1 at HL campus.  The mom has been too busy to chat online.

Watching TV at night is a must-do activities for adults especially for the older generation.  My in-laws do watch a lot of TV.  The TV in the living room is turned on the whole day long.

Fortunately, my son doesn't quite watch those TV programs (except commercials).  I only let him watch discovery channel & selective cartoon programs.  For the others, I will say 'not for you'.  I keep saying this for many times & it works.

Actually I have the original Letterland catalog and the price is exactly the same as the price provided by the school. So the school doesn't charge us extra (except they may get a discount for bulk purchase or for school use, in that case I'm not sure). But if you buy from Letterland yourself, it's the same price.

If Brian like Sesame Street, he must loves Elmo's World. I bought some Elmo's world VCD for Preston, he used to like it. If you're interested, I can duplicate for you.

Thanks for your info.  Actually, I bought those of of english materials from school.  Liam likes to listen story telling alot and he will read them by himself sometimes.  We feel the prices of those books and CD are acceptable, so we take it.

Yes, it seems quite interesting to know about what kids will learning from school.  Plus, my hubby never visit to his school yet, so both of us will attend...or with Liam as well.

About TV programmes, have you heard Nickelodeon from NOW TV? I let Liam to watches it, however just know they have another one called Playhouse Disney channel, it look like more suitable to him, anyway, let see...another 12 bucks    Sometimes, I will play some video tapes of Cbeebies for him too.  I like to chase HK episodes though I'm not that old like in-laws .  But I only watching my favourite TV after get him off to his bed.  Luckily, he's willing go to bed around 8.45pm(fingers crossed)
