My view is: We are all human and would get sick.  I have no problems with the English teachers taking sick leave.  It is perfectly ok even if they are absent for 1 or 2 weeks or even a longer period.  The bottom line is to get the sickness cured.  But my query is: why are they disappearing for 1 day and appearing on the 2nd day, but suddenly disappearing again on the 3rd day.  This kind of discontiuance in teaching our kids would not be good to our kids and not to the teachers concerned either.  If the teachers are not feeling well and have not got the sickness cured, they should stay at home until it is completely cured.  If they force themselves to come to school and get sick again (and probably more serious) right on the following day, it is not good for their health.  My point is, they should get the sickness cured once and for all no matter how long they have to take the sick leave, but please don't take Mon, Wed, Fri off and appear on Tue, Thur (say for example).

Of course I am not quite happy with the current situation, but as I said in my earlier message, I guess we just need to give them the benefit of doubts for the moment.

Dear all SC K1 mummy,

My daughter will attend the K1 in coming September.  Luckily, SC, KV and one of non-profit kindergarten was accepted her application.  I will make my decision which kindergarten is suitable for her.  If you don't mind, kindly give me some information about SC as the following questions :

(1)  How much time does NET spend at class per day ???
(2)  Can your child improve their English standard after attend the school ???
(3)  Does your child attend any other activities at outside ???
(4)  Do you feel it is worth for HK$ 3,300 school fee ???
(5)  After 3 month of the school life for your child, is it same as your expectation before ???

FYI, my daughter is small girl (Oct).  Any comment for me.  Thanks for your help in advance.

我個女果班so far我知有一個男仔入到DBS, 佢地的interview同 DGJS好不同, 我想是有 d 似 spcc, 要問好多野, 要小朋友做好多task, 亦有 2nd interview, 要見父母, 唔似得DGJS一次搞掂, 其他詳情就不太清楚, 我遲d都要同那位媽媽交流一下, 因為咁岩我個女同佢個仔讀同一班upper, 大家都考到 DG/BS,  而她的細女, 又同我個細仔同一班nursery, 當然大家未來的目標都是DG/Bs啦!

我而家個仔讀sc k1, 個女就讀 K3, 我試下答你的問題,

k1的NET是全時間, 當然, 如果小朋友正聽中文老師說故事, 英文老師可能會走開一會, 相反亦然。

我的小朋友英文有明顯進步, 我們在家沒有硬性規定小朋友要說英文, 而我家是用印傭, 說中文的, 但我讀K3的女兒基本上是聽得明, 亦會說到基本英語, 而個仔就剛起步。

我兩個小朋友都有學課外活動, 我覺得這是不能少的, 同讀那間kinder沒有關係。

學費是否值就因人而異了, 不過比較一些主要用中文教學, 只有一位外藉老師走全校的, 但都一樣收你3500的kinder, SC就似乎值好多了

和我的expectation產不多, 老師亦好有愛心, 仔仔好中意返學, 他未入SC前, 都有讀過家附近的幼兒園, 但而家問他中意那一間學校, 佢都會話SC

其實大/細女都沒有什麼關係, k1 SC是會分大仔/細仔班的。

謝謝你的回應。首先恭喜你的囡囡入到心儀的小學，其實在選擇幼稚園時真的很頭痛，因第一個小朋友，所以都不知那間是適合她，好多謝你的寶貴意見，我會再認真考慮各方因素，而為囡囡選擇一間適合她的學校。

My colleague's daugther was graduated from SC last year.  I also asked this question to her.  She explained lower & upper class teachers are more mature.  Therefore, they would look more serious than N-class teacher.  She said the teacher is also nice & good.  By the way, I think it is good to our child to face different kind of people.  I think P1 teacher will be much more 嚴厲 than KG teacher.

Last year I also knitted a vest for my daugther and I found some big holes on it.   I went to the shop and sitting there to learn how to knit.  I can say I'm a idiot and have a thick face because I always knitted it wrongly and ask the ppl there to correct it.  Anyway, it's worth trying.
