matthew的英文老師是新來三位英文老師的其中一位,她來了後,明顯英文功課多了很多,而且我問個仔邊個老師最惡,他說是英文老師,嘩!來了才兩個月巳經榮升榜首,佢都唔少野喎!
唔通她是來自...."曾經滄海難為水"的學校!

It seems that those new teachers taught in secondary school in the past. Anyway, no pain no gain. If you find that your child is making progress rapidly, you shall find it worthwhile. Otherwise, how to get 85% to continue to be EMI.

如果學習only pain,我想都唔可能gain得好多.
正如peter和我個仔都好鍾意踢波,踢波都好辛苦的,好天晒,落雨淋,如果只有pain而無fun,我諗佢地唔會再去踢,我最驚就是他們no fun no gain. :cry:

Yes, Miss Seto is very good. I talked with her several times. She is very nice and full of love. A typical Christian. My son miss her very much!

There is no deny that everyone wants to learn with fun!

My son also missed Miss Seto.  Not only she could teach in a fun way but also her effectiveness.  My son did learn just from her daily speaking.  Miss Seto definitely has paid a lot of effort in designing the activities and made the learning full of fun. The "Aladdin" Ch 1 was taught by her and my son could read it without my assistance.  However, for the ch2, my son need my assistance to read some of the words.  I'm not sure it was because of the teaching methods of different teachers or the fact that my son took leaves recently.

Last night's English ws is quite hard.  My son needs to look up many of the words to do it.  The pictures on the weather ws are so blunt.  I need to help him in doing that one, actually by guessing.

Hohomama,

The ws on different kinds of clothings was actually done by me. The weather ws was done by my son himself, or may be done during the class because it has been finished when he came back.

我老公同個仔參加入下星期一運動會接力比賽呀~~唔知點玩法呢?我老公同個仔好攪野明天話去練跑喎~~嘜咁認真呀?   
至於下星期就正lo~~真係放下假喇....星期四係開始放假第一天呀...唔冼返學喇!
我仔今個星期又默中文又默英文...加個英文評估..佢都真係幾忙呀!

I agreed with you.   As I know, there are many parents don't like this policy.  I heard some parents complainted this policy to a teacher (I believed she is) in Feb05 and the teacher said this policy is not set by the school but from the parents association.  Moreover, on 5Mar, the first week that this policy was effective, I saw some grandpas complaining this and said they would ask the parents not to join the school activities after this round.

In last parents meeting, the Parents' Asso. explained that it is for security and the school has lost some expensive equipments in 2003/2004 (not sure).

I doubt this reason very much.  

If this is to prevent school properties to be robberred, would the robbery happen under parents' eyes?  I bet all the school robberies did happen during the night or during the school holiday.  

If this is to prevent kidnapping, the existing system still cannot prevent.

While the pros are not convincing, there are lots of cons:
- it caused a lot of inconvenience to parents and students, not need to say much on this.
- some children have joint more than one activities and need to wait between the activities. If parents could stay in school, the parents could do some reading with them in this half an hour or one hour.
- it creates longer distances between the school and the parents.  Now, the parents could only have a look of their sons everyday studying environment during the parents days which occur two times a year.  I used to enjoy walking around the school, reading the notices to see what my son see on everyday.  This makes me understand his daily life more and have more discussion topics with him.

Actually, there are better ways to improve security. Eg, can use the Octopus system.  Just install a octopus reading machine and register the parents' and students' Octopus number and this could already guarantee no strangers could get in the school from the normal entrance.

上次家長會時,主席都話『真係無諗過那兩小時你地去邊.』証明佢地根本無考慮我們,而最大的問題可能唔係d家長,因為可以做義工家長,但有無義工婆婆和義工菲傭?

上次派通告時,我在回條上寫:本人並不贊成此措施,但若學校仍一意孤行,本人只好無奈接受.

Good points which I totally agree though I don't think those Saturday courses, except school football team training, are attractive at all!   

You may wish to post your views to the Parent Discussion Forum on school website for other parents' support and attention of the school administration on this issue.

In our case, Peter need to wander around the campus by himself between 9:30~11:00 waiting for 陶藝班 starting at 11 after finished his football training at around 9:30! :cry:  :cry:  :cry:

I think the new measure is suggested by some PTA members and the chairman approve it without detail consideration. Let's raise and discuss it with Ms. Lam. What do you think?

雖然我d小朋友冇參加學校星期六活動，但我都覺得咁樣會帶俾唔少家長不便，要家長係校門外等，但校門外又冇瓦遮頭，如果只開細門，而預先派俾每個學生家長一張家長証，出入都要出示，咁樣保安方面就唔係問題，可能PTA有此提議之人，自己本身係家長義工，所以可以進入，而忽略咗其他非做家長義工之需求。

我聽日都冇參加任何比賽，要番工，黎緊復活節係24、29及30日拎咗假陪小朋友，所以要清理工作，唔係31日返工時，d工作實好似海嘯咁琴埋黎，沒頂硬啦。
