恭喜你！我囝囝也是2月出世的。得閒多些入來，囡囡出世了便很忙了。囝囝知道多個妹妹，有沒有特別感覺？

你的囝囝很聽話，想你陪他練琴。我阿仔成日話自己練，其實怕我煩，但他又唔上心，阿Sir講完要注意的地方又唔記得，於是我亦不跟他拗，因為每堂都錄音，聽番阿Sir點講，以錄音帶做標準。你囝囝是不是今年升中？選定了心目中的學校沒有？他小提琴的成績這麼好，你一定不用擔心了！

818, what is your progress now? I finally hired a teacher few months ago.
Do you know is there any community orchestra for adult amateur in HK? Too boring of self-playing!

Long time no see.  I am now working on the Handel Sonata in Suzuki book 7, and doing a lot of Wohlfahart and sevcik, and also struggling with the exercises in Melodious Double Stops by Josephine Trott.  I am quite happy with my intonation and shifting skills, which come quite easily, but having a hard time with double/triple stops and chords.  My vibrato still sounds like siren.  The theory part is easy to me, and I guess I am not a bad sight-reader.  I really enjoy every moment of my practice time.  Let's hope that I can claim your bottle of wine by 2008.

It is good to know that you are learning the violin too.  How are you and your son doing?  Having fun?  I am not aware of any community orchestra for adult amateurs.  Perhaps we can start one with a duet.

可能要等他大些(獨立些)才會送他到國內 / 國外的music camp.
去年暑假參加了音統的music camp. 兩公婆以為可以輕鬆1星期. 誰不知小兒每晚半夜打電話回來, 哭着要回家.整個星期都為他擔心.
茵茵, 去年小兒跟其他小朋友2次表演的video, 可有興趣看看給些意見.

正在為小兒的中學頭痛, 如果以學業(just above average)來算 band 1跟本不要考慮. 會博一博替他報喇X. 看他的運氣了.

會不會報直資見識吓？DXX有全港中學最好的樂團，SXCC也很喜歡音樂叻的人，如果入到，再考慮其他因素。你囝囝8級小提琴有Dist已不易，還要141分，年紀這樣輕，仲有好多空間呀！

Dear SCheng,
I also recommend DXX because they are looking for talented young players like your son. I know someone (now already in Dxx) who is a very talented young violinist. When he was interviewed, he was only asked to play a song. He got accepted right after (no further interview conducted).

想請問初學的小朋友應該一星期練習多少日 ? 每一次應該練多久 ? 我仔仔就怏 4YRS, 宜家只識得拉 GDAE 呢果個音, 導師 KEEP 住同佢練緊 D arm angles, 每星期上一次堂, 每堂半個鐘

有時間便天天練，日子有功，進步會很快。還有多看課外書，因為8歲前不建立閱讀的習慣，大些便很難做到。幼稚園是所有小朋友的蜜月期，上到小學，不單只功課多了，D大人都好煩，要求讀書好、做功課快、課外活動又多時還要有些成績。

csk >> 日日練, 敢每日練多久 ? 因佢只識得拉果四個 keys, 都唔知點同佢練, 係呢, 佢拉親, 個身都係度轉埋, 係咪唔岩, 要即刻 stop 佢架 ? 我試過叫佢唔好轉, 但係過一陣又轉番既 ??

老師有沒有叫練幾耐？我記得阿囝初學時，用篠琦最淺那本和Suzuki第一本，有書跟容易一些。你的小朋友這麼細，不知教法是怎樣？茵茵可能給到有用的意見。如果識拉4個keys，就算拉空弘也要拉得靚，姿勢、弓法也要正確，學壞了好難改。阿囝的老師說練琴不應以時間規限，應用是否已拉好要練的東西。拉得啱和準確三、幾次也可以。拉到走音、弓法錯都唔知，還死練好多次反而仲弊。如果練習時轉來轉去，我覺得你應該和老師講，由他糾正佢，不要自己勞氣。

I guess you are doing very well, so soon to bk 7! But does it mean that Suzuki book 7 is something like grade 7? how come you still need another two yrs to achieve the goal! But the arrangement of suzuki's book is quite odd.

I'm using the 篠崎 bk 2 now, together with the Wohlfahrt op.45 bk 1. Both are taught at approx 80%. Very soon will deal with the #28 - double stop etude that sounds really difficult. My son is a little bit ahead of my progress but can't play in a satisfactory manner.

I find that load of time to be taken if both of us really want to play hearable while my son doesn't have! You know local education system is how demanding! And he more likes piano in fact. Anyway i don't push in learning (ECA). Just loves to enjoy is good enough.
