Hi mmmami,

You are right that there are some attractive points on TSL (personal feelings only).  I would like to summarize the pros and cons as follow.

Cons:
- do not have track records on secondary school allocation.  Most likely, it is a band 2 school only.
- choas in P1 admission arrangement
- rumour related to change of school headmaster

Pros:
- truely english speaking primary school, if you would like your kid to nurture in english environment, TSL can fulfil your need.
- relatively low school fee in DSS
- TSL can provide a mult-cultural atmosphere for students as around 10-20% students are non-local.
- happy learning for kids, little homework and can have more spare time for non-school learning i.e. fully development kids in various aspect, not just homework, dictation, many worksheets and examination, like many famous good school to ensure student can get high marks.
- good school facilities, like swimming pool that is not easy to find in other primary school.

Indeed, whether to choose TSL or not, it depends on what type of educational philosophy that you would like your kid to be adopt.

Hope other parants can share their veiwpoints as well.

早晨呀!你地有冇人考到呀,我囡囡考唔到呀 :cry: ,不過我最擔心囡囡會好唔開心,因為佢估自己會考到,因為當日見校長十個小朋友只有佢一個可以用稍為流利英語對答,其他小朋友都唔多願講野仲有三個咩都唔講,仲所有家長都拍晒手比我囡囡.所以我囡囡出來見到爸爸都應為自己會考到.我之前都同囡囡講過話如果考唔到都唔好唔開心,因為在我心目中你巳經考到,只係學校有唔同需要啫.今晚都唔知點同佢講好. :cry:

唔好喊啦. 我女都考唔到喎.  我女都充滿信心架, 坐隔離的家長都有讚我女smart.  哈

我都諗緊點同佢講.  因為佢唔太like 我地將要佢讀既sfa, 佢比較喜歡tsl.  一陣都唔知點同佢講tim.

聽人講, 佢地今期都要收番好多第一round 無收個啲有哥哥姐姐係到讀既小朋友喎. 所以有幾多位, 大家心中有數. 同埋好似你講, 學校有唔同既需要.  或者天意我女一定要讀sfa 吧.  當然, 你如果好like 呢間學校, 咁你可以試下15號之后睇下佢地仲有無位囉.

不要灰心啊, 其實陳守仁的收生標準, 我覺得係個謎...謎到d家長好煩, 好亂, 見個相都知你個女係聰明伶俐 la! 咪讀第二間 law, 你仲有後備添.

多謝大家關心,只不過覺得好唔底,又唔係唔識.宜家我都唔知點揀好,祟真又驚應付唔到,黃埔宣道又唔知好唔好.有有人可以比d意見我呀? :cry:

Thanks for all the valuable advice. I am sorry to hear those failed in the admission, but I am sure you'll all find some place. Who knows, perhaps better than this one. Cheerup.

I believe that TSL should choice the most smart kids to study. In your P.1 year, I meet some kids who accepted by TSL. They are good at both of  English and Chinese and also include good PTH, music results and wonderful sport activities. If you have big dream in this school, I think that you may disappoint.

For 2004/05 P.1 year, the administration of school are bad and out of control. The teachers often  absent in class every week and .....

On the other hand, the school has many activities and little homework. The students are happy at their school life. They have great freedom at school. e,g, they can wear school uniform or P.E.uniform everyday, no limit for the length of boy's hair....
There are no homework in the holidays and no more homework at the weekend. The standard of English are better than common schools......

If you like this school very much, you can try to apply 2rd term or P.2. Some students will be leave.

Cheer up!!

We gave up the seat at the first round. My Australian Chinese friend gave up the P.2 seat too this year. The school work is heavy and it doe snot fit all teh kids. So dont feel upset if u dont have the seat. you may get a better one.

May I ask why TSL attracts so many parents apply?

I have heard both bad and good comments towards the school and they are pretty extreme.

I think if the school matchs your expectation, you would like it; otherwise, you would reject it.

Even in kg, some of my daughter classmates have no problem handling the school works at all but some have difficulties and complain that workload is too much. So, it really depends on the kid's character and family's expectation.

Don't give too much pressure to yourself or your kids! Let us enjoy the summer!

Yes, poor administration and coordination indeed.  I am still very angry with and disappointed about the recent interview arrangement which has bothered so many parents and students at such a final round of screening.  The parents and kids spent a short period of time to play around the puzzles and a very short opportunity for the kid to present in front of a whole group of people.  It is really unfair to those kids who are not easily warm up.  I am very puzzled how it can help the headmistress to select the right group of students.  Mind TSL that the parents need to work to earn for living.  The parents are not worth taking days off to participate in such interviews for 3 - 4 times.  TSL should review its process entirely.

On the other hand, TSL can provide good facilities at school. The students can learn French and swimming in the school. My son meets his classmates from different countries. School bus fee is reasonable. We pay ten months only. On Dec., Feb. and Apr., we pay half school bus fee. If my son takes part after school activities, TSL can provide their school bus at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The students can join more activities and functions in the school. If your kid likes music, arts or sports activities, he likes TSL very much.

I am a parent of TSL student. My son enjoys his p1 school life so much. No problem at all. I am totally satisfied with the teacher and school.
