香港中央圖書館就新舊刋都不外借，如有時間可帶孩子上去慢慢睇。因空間所限，舊刋可能不在架上，你問職員索取便可。

我孩子在小一時直接看紅蘋果，但也有小一生喜歡小小紅蘋果，所以最好選適合自己孩子的。

其實不一定要訂閱，我覺得定期帶孩子上圖書館看也很好啊。

It is not available in HKPL.
If you order it through your school, it only costs something like HK$1.5 per copy or so.

You can order Junior Standard + Sing Tao Daily too, a combo of two newspapers (one English newspaper and one Chinese newspaper) at a cost of HK$1.8 per day.

I totally agree with you, however it may take half an hour or so for an average family to get to the library.

So unless you live right next to a library, the time value of traveling may discourage to do that regularly.

Below please see an extract from HKPL's introduction webpage:

'The Hong Kong Public Libraries provides a network of 67 static libraries and 10 mobile libraries. They are evenly spread over the territory of Hong Kong ...'

Although I cannot tell your reference of average families, I trust the parents can judge whether the benefits overweigh the cost in accessing the public libraries.

In EK, it seems to me that quite some parents are not aware of the resources available in public libraries.
