小兒將入讀九龍塘宣道小學, 有問題想請教?

你地小朋友開心嗎? 我仔同我講佢有少少緊張，今早佢好早起身，仲催我返些到樓下等校車，今朝送佢上校車亦好順利。

晞晴媽咪, 我仔同你個女同班呀! 好開心呀!!!以後大家有問題可以在這裡交換意見。今日派返來的通告，我看了很久，而個本學生手冊明天是否要帶返學校呢? 另外學童牙科保健是否比現金呢?還有你個女學樂器是星期幾呀?阿仔話班主任教英文科。我想知還有冇教其他科呢??

Nanabi, 你買了樂器未呀? 我仔是星期四放學後學樂器，咁你個女星期六返幾點呢? 至於你話通告上"point 2"我都不太明白，意思是否要帶樂器上堂呢?聽到你個女話好開心，也鄧你高興，仲有你個女讀那一班，會否同我地一班。

Hi Simoomhot,

It is great that our three children are all in 1C so we can exchange our infromation!

My daughter said the teacher will be teaching them English but she was teaching Chinese before this year!  That sounds a bit worry to me!!

I have not bought the instrument and hope to get it before 10th!  I guess it should be OK!!  Did you finally let your son take the hand book to school?  I did and I guess she will take it back with the time table tomorrow!

I guess today they had only introduced some of the teachers and rules of the school at the hall.  And they learned to sing the school song!!  

From what I see at the handbook, the workload seems not bad.  They only have one test and one exam a term.  Many schools give more than that but they emphaize more on the open festival such as music fest etc.  But it sounds ok to me!  Hope our children will be happy at school!!

I think both of you are taking school bus so may be difficult for us to meet!!

實在太好大家同埋一班，我今日冇交個本手冊，阿仔話我聽原來要交，今日期待會派time table，因我亦好奇以後將會上什麼堂，我亦喜歡兩測兩考，唔好太多，會好大壓力。我想這校不會太多功課，因為到現時為止還未有功課。因我同事的子女第一日返學己有功課做。

阿仔亦有提過班主任以前教中文，為何又教英文呢?

我想我地第時會在音樂會上有機會見面的。

真開心你們的小朋友亦在1C班, 今日返到公司, 個同事話我知個細仔都係呢班, (她的大仔今年會於宣小升小五) 她說這位班主任是一位很有經驗的老師, 人很 nice, 相信一定可幫助小朋友盡快適應小學生活...

手冊我昨天已經幫小女填好, 她說今日老師將所有交回的手冊收起, 可能蓋校印啦...我都有給$20個女帶返學校交牙科保健, 但今日在書包內見到張回條話所有錢都會留待遲D用PPS交, 早知就唔使放低錢啦....嘻嘻

功課方面, 呀同事話唔好緊張, 呢三日就當給小朋友好好適應, 相比起其他出名小學, 宣小的功課量不算真是十分多, 一般小一新生都應該無問題, 總之大家保持聯絡...OK ?

Hi Mikoo,

學校返學時間是上午7:50分-下午2:30分，開學至今我發現住我區返九龍塘的學校也要6:30上車，可能住得偏僻所以我屋企是頭站，問過校車EE校車會7:30分到達學校，所以你可以留意你樓下返九龍塘的校車大約往返時間。如果鐘意這校試下考啦，考試內容唔係太難。

I know there are many different extra-curricular activities like phonics, badminton, drawing, computer etc.  But when will they ask us if we are interested?  What do you think if we should participate?  Does it take lots of time if we do?  What is your recommendation of joining any of those?

After discussed with my husband and of course....my daughter, we all are interested in the English drama class and swimming class. However, I also agree with A&E that the kid need to stay at school until 5:00 p.m. (I have already confirmed the bus driver can get back my girl at 5:00 p.m. if she has activity) and will very tired to manage the daily homework and revision. Maybe I will only pick one finally.

Nanabi: most of the activity classes are first-come-first-serve or using lucky draw to pick the students. If you can make the decision during week-end, I think we have to submit the reply slip on Monday la...

Has anyone of your children taken the schools' badminton and drawing classes?  Is it worth to try or it is better to learn it somewhere??

Dear A&E,

Thanks for sharing your experience with me.  That helps!  I am thinking what to take or to take nothing from school because there are other activities to do.  So I worry if that is too much for my daughter.  I am thinking of badminton because I really want to keep my daughter with at least one sports.  She has never really play badminton before so I am thinking if that is a good place to start.  But I guess it is quite troublesome as she needs to bring and change the sports uniform.  My daughter just had a month of drawing lesson outside so I am thinking to keep her trying there first instead of doing at APS.  And the English drama sounds quite good but I really want to know what it is actually!!

Anyway, good to know about your view.  My daughter likes to take whatever I mention but I need to make it well balance for her!!

But does it make any different on her school performance as they said that would also show on the report card!  Someone mentioned that a good report card is sticked with money.  I do not really know how true it is and how important other would look at that!!

看今年小一的書單, 沒有英文課本(以前學校是用Oxford English),  數學比以前學早半學期, 小一開始己用數學一下書本. 如沒有英文課本, GE可不用帶課本, GP不知是否Phonics, GW是Guided Writing, 都由老師派工作紙, 不用課本. 數學科是要帶數書, 中補是指中文補充練習, 帶"每日中文溫習室".  下週正式開課後, 老師會通知小朋友每堂要帶甚麼課本或習作.

各位媽咪, 課外活動要考慮如不是自接放學的話, 活動後要乘第二輪開4時45分校車離校, 回到家要五時多六時左右.  如小朋友要早睡的話, 每晚所餘時間不多. 所以, 課外活動不宜太多, 如家居附近有得學的話, 時間還會比較靈活, 金錢上也可少付每程25元校車附加費.  宣小我覺得是體育運動方面不足, 小朋友參加游水打球等課外運動可予以平衡.
