Tips from How to Help Your Child with Homework
·
Set goals with not for your child. Then focus on one at a time.
·
Make your child aware of his or her improvement. Reward achievement.
·
Direct praise to the task at hand.
·
Try not to show disappointment if your child doesn't do as well as you'd like.
·
Be enthusiastic. Show humor.
·
Be prepared to teach as well as help.
·
Use concrete, hands-on materials whenever possible, especially with younger children.
·
Help your child build associations between what she knows and what she is learning.
·
Provide adequate practice to facilitate overlearning.
·
Provide variety. Switch from one subject to another and take breaks to keep up attention.
·
Encourage creative thinking. This is an opportunity your child may not be getting at school.
·
Encourage independence.
·
Take every opportunity to build your child's self-esteem.
·
Show a positive attitude toward your child's school and teacher. Work with the teacher not against her.

我個仔一年前未排到政府醫院前, 去睇私家醫生, 比阿仔試食 strattra (話24小時有效喎), 不過醫生講明, strattra 尼隻藥唔係即時見效的, 好似起碼 3個月以上才知對小朋友有無效, 要 d 藥儲埋儲埋架! 阿仔食左 3個月 strattra 都無咩特別, 跟住排到政府醫院, 就轉左食 ritalin 啦!!

strattra 好貴呀, 睇私家醫生每次 $1000 半小時診金, strattra 藥費每粒 @$25蚊!! 不過好處就唔影響胃口!!

唔知其他人食 strattra 有無好效果呢?

I am not sure Strattra.  The proper way is to ask the Psychiatrist.  I hear another kind of drug is total different from Ratlin.  First, you have to take two weeks and this drug started to be effect ...

其實我都好明白家長對小朋友既擔心，不過真係要小心留意用藥既分量，唔好加得太重，有時見醫生佢地通常只會問家長小朋友既情況，唔理想就加藥，佢地未必真正了解實況，唔係真係用藥壓制佢地情緒就可以，而且會有好多副作用，反而行為 ...

hi all,
how's everyone?
i've problem in "my son doing homework".  if daddy is at home, he is still okay and can finish all that day. but when daddy is not at home, he is hard to concentrate and walk around and if seeing sth he interested, he will play and not do HW.  
how to change?

回想起最初, 係咪我地做家長的過份緊張?
我個女而家 10歲啦, 當年6歲個時都被評為專注力不足+有少少過度活躍証, 醫生都開藥比佢, 但我最終沒比呀女食藥, 因對個醫生沒信心+知道隻藥有幾多副作用....,我到處跑了3年去做評估(健康、智力..), 沒辦法最後我當佢正常人咁, 當然對佢要求梗係睇底一線啦! 以前佢除了成績差d外與其他小朋友相處又無問題仲攞過進步獎、服務獎; 今個學年我比佢去補習社, 都好明顯進步, 而家我覺得佢都無咩唔好, 成績唔代表一切, 佢健康快樂我已心足了!
各位媽媽, 唔好灰心呀, 我既小朋友能改善過來, 你們的小朋友也可以的, 加油!

我個仔食左半年ritalin, 因為效果不太理想, 就轉左食strattra。但我個醫生話食3星期先有效, 咁我個仔又食左4-5個月, 都好似無乜效,之後醫生建議2隻一齊食, 晚上食strattra, 而返學前食ritalin。但我吾想亞仔食咁多藥, 所以而家只係食ritalin。吾知點解, 佢而家食番ritalin又好左, 比以前專心同成績好左。係呀, stratta好貴, 我個醫生要$35/粒, 睇1次醫生+1個月藥要$1800。好彩而家只係食ritalin, 慳番好多。隻藥咁貴是否只是自私家醫生用, 政府醫生吾會用?

瑪麗醫院的醫生只寫紙叫家長去出面的藥房買 strattra 咋, 瑪麗醫院無這隻藥囉!! 而 concerta 藥就可以在瑪麗醫院自費購買!! (但價錢我不太清楚)

即係你亞仔而家都無食strattra?只係食ritalin?不過$25/粒都算平, 我個醫生賣$35, 賺死佢。

星期日,我參加了Nick的佈道會.

Nick出場前,一位在出身時,因細菌感染,令雙手總計只有三隻手指的年輕音樂家黃愛恩小姐,在彈奏著--奇妙恩典,
那一刻,我的耳在聽著她奏的旋律,
口在盡力跟著唱歌(因我不是教徒,所以,跟得較困難),
眼邊望著視像屏幕,近鏡映著她畸形的手指在奏琴,
又望下她的背影(當時,我們坐得很近演講台)

此情此境,我已經淚流滿面了,坐在身旁的當仔(我的兒子),看著我,有點不知所措,有點擔心,當回家時,我向他解釋:那刻,媽媽在想,我真沒用,還小題大做,當你曾經因小肌肉不協調,寫字會容易累,而為此感愁雲慘霧,但其實你十指健全,已經比其他人好得多了.

明年,Nick的新作面世,很建議你們和你們的孩子閱讀!!!!

Hi, any buddy know where can I buy Concerta 18mg and Strarrera in Hong Kong? Do i need the doctor's letter to buy it? and how much is it?

I bought the concerta 18mg costs AU$46.5/30 tablets  in Australia.

these drugs need doctor's prescription, either you can consult a psychiatrist or a family doctor/GP

the price in Australia is very cheap!
my son's doctor charged us $20/ tablet
