我盡量都唔想去排除孩子將來發展的可能性 ... Not knowing Spanish will probably preclude opportunities in South America, not knowing Japanese will not go too far in Japan etc, but there are only 24 hours in a day, so in the end we have to forego something, and that decision largely depends on where in the world our children will most likely be spending most of their lives in. If it is going to be in the greater China area, then we better not drop Chinese.
However, if we foresee our children will be spending most of their lives in a western country, then we need not worry about them looking Chinese but not knowing Chinese, because in western countries this is a non-issue.
