I copy the following from the application form. It does mention "guarantees priority to the waiting list". Seems not much parents can do.

"The Nomination Rights is a means for parents to gain a “fast track” entry to Renaissance College. It is a non-refundable HK$400,000 Nomination Right, which guarantees priority on the waiting list and a place
subject to interview."

我們有申請RC & BHS （16-17 year 1), 兩間也沒有買NR; RC 沒有機會interview 只在waiting list 上；BHS有interview 亦幸運pass 左已有offer. 但見女女好多同學仔大部分已在過年前收到offer; 他們也沒有買NR的；甚至有些本來在RC waiting list 未有機會interview 的也在過年前收到interview 通知；過年後也收到offer 了。反而見到有部份買左RC & ESF offer 不過未能成功pass所以可以申請退還50k. 至於買左NR又pass左又吾比位就從來未聽/見過。如果是真的又有點難理解；他寧願比offer無買NR那班都吾比買左既家長(因為有買NR已經係其中一項priority; 理應排先過完全無priority 的）

補充我們之後也收到RC interview 通知但因已給deposit BHS同埋我們一向屬意BHS較多所以沒有再去了。

但見600 個都唔得仲約返餘下既佰幾人無得in 既去in? 有咁既可能？？咁我地都係最唔好彩果個咯

RC has tons of waitlisters, instead of giving them offer, they interview those uninvited in the first batch, y dont they simply reject but to give ppl false hope!
