I let Brian choose the objects for 'show and tell'.  However, he used to choose cars.  Sometimes, I will suggest other choices.  It's good that he is willing to accept my suggestions.

Too bad that the weather has not been stable these days.  Same case today.  It was sunny & then rained heavily & then the sun came up & it's getting dark now.  It will rain again.

It's good to let kids pick their own thing for show & tell.  Yet, if I do so, I'm sure Davin will take car each time.  Of course, everytime I'll make suggestion to see if he accepts or not.

Yes, most of the time he would choose cars/ buses and I would suggest something else. Then he usually rejected my suggestion and thought of something else. He's the kind of kid that has his own ideas and won't listen to others and very stubborn as well.

I may let Ka Ka learn to ice-skatting in Megabox. But ,      comparing with festival walk , Festival walk is better than Magabox.

I think it's normal for kids to behave in this way.  Brian is also stubborn in many occasions: choosing his favorite colours, shoes, food, where to play, what to play ......  We can't control them but it's a good time for them (and us as well) to learn how to negotiate.

Supposingly, my maid will come on 16/7.  I have to make some changes in my house to cope with the changes.  The laundry room will be changed into a bedroom and probably Brian will share the bedroom with the maid.

She has no experience in taking care of small kids in HK but I think taking care of Brian and the new born will not be a big problem for her as my parents will help.

bblaw, welcome back.  i know that quite many girls learn ice-skating.

and, i've confirmed the package to kota kinabalu (sabah) in malaysia.  i really look forward to it because it's the rare occasion that i don't have to stay with my in-laws in the same apartment.

doris is right, most kid is stubborn to a certain extent.  doris, have you enrolled brian in any summer course ?

I've been to Disney Hollywood but I heard Disneyland HK is better but a lot more expensive.

I didn't enroll any course for Brian so far but I am thinking of letting him try a piano class in Whampoa, 10 lessons, two lessons in the morning per week.  bblaw, did you mention to me about cookery class?  May I know where is it?

I'll send a copy to you soon. Preston is attending piano class at Lau Sze Kwan for almost a year. His teacher is pretty good.

Preston just started his swimming class at YMCA this am, he's a bit shy during warm-up but OK once he got into the water. Hope he won't be scared of the water soon.

Lay Sze Kwan is the famous to learn piano. At first, I want to let Ka Ka learn in there, but she refused and she insist in Tom Lee.

Last Friday, I took Ka Ka learn swimming at Dali.The teacher is very good to handle the little child. It make me surprised

Is tom lee good? I heard someone said they teach 'do re me fa so' instead of ' cdefg..', is that true? Is it in a class style or will Ka ka change to individual lesson?

Dear All

So, some of your kids started to take swimming class.  Does it help ?  Can they really learn how to swim (at their age) ?

Lydia, I know that Preston has quite some extra-curricular activities.  How many days in a week do you or your helper take him for lesson ?  Right now, I'm thinking of letting Davin take 2 more classes but time scheduling is quite an issue.  Would like to know your experience.

Actually Preston is currently taking 4 kinds of lessons only. I need to rearrange his schedule after Sept coz some courses are for summer only and some of them will stop during summer. Also Preston will be in full-day class, so things will be a bit difficult. I'll probably arrange 2, at most 3 classes on Sat and maybe 1-2 over weekdays. I'm not sure yet, it's not an easy job.
What other courses are you planning for Davin?
As for swimming class, I regret to let Preston took the one in clubhouse last year. One of my friend's kids (who was in PNA, now at St. Catherine) he's 3 months younger than Preston has learned swimming at YMCA for 1 year. Now he can swim with his head inside the water without help. My collegues's kids (5 yrs old)  has learned swimming for 2 years, now can swim freestyle and back stroke for at least 50m. Actually Preston is bit late to learn swimming according to some of my friends.

I have received the schedule.  Thanks a lot.  

My family is quite busy recently.  We have to tidy up the house and throw away all the unwanted stuff.  We hope to give an image to the maid that the house is tidy and that she has to maintain that standard all the time.

It's more difficult in scheduling for other classes for your case.  Initially, I don't prefer him having lesson on both Sat & Sun in the coming academic year.  Yet, I think he has to take 1 on Sat & 1 on Sun & 1 to 2 in weekdays.  Additional class to take will be performing art & math (maybe end of the year since enopi math is a bit more difficult).

Take it easy.  It's never too late to learn something.  Aren't we learning everyday ?  And, no need to make comparison as it will give you more pressure.

Do not worried about to arrange activities for the kids!
At firstly, I was worried about that. But now Ka Ka can attend 5 courses now. I find that when she is growing up,she sleep less.And, I attend only one course on Sun. She can afford.When she attend to full-day class,the sleep pattern can be trained

Doris, I will join the drawing class at Aug. See U later. Cos, I am very busy in July . My son go to have Summer playgroup.
