Dear SPK parents,

My bb girl is lucky accepted by SPK.  Just want to get more info.  As there are 2 SP primary schools (one called SP Convent & another called SP Primary), could anyone advise :

- to where most of the SPK graduates will go ... to SP Convent or to SP Primary ... Or, purely depends on where you will apply for ...  

- Plesae also advise the chance to get into these primary schools.

就如同以上所有SPK 家長既意見一樣：如果妳對幼稚園既祈望係 = 供給一個開心快樂既學習環境比小朋友，那麼揀選 & 確定 SPK 絕對係個無可志疑既正確選擇。 小朋友們開始 （K 1- 3） 於一個開心而又無壓力學習既環境下成長，未必即時睇到學術上既回報 (ie. 成績表上 A+ /甲級/ 100 分），但日後當升上小學，我相信之前 3 年於學校/家中/ 社會既"愉快學習"， 係絕對有著正面幫助。

至於妳話妳囡囡有著各樣行為等問題：我諗，妳囡囡唔係如妳所講o甘"差"，事實上可能剛好"相反" - 佢可能係"好叻" （IQ 方面）果種 ，詳細我諗妳要多點觀察佢平常既生活習慣 & 行為 & 去試做下一D 智能評估測試。

ChingChingFather 都答左妳。SPK 係無乜課外活動架，至少K 1 無。以我個人為例，我多數自己係外面搵"課外活動"比囡囡 - 有時課外活動，唔一定係要洗錢 & "大圍人都做既野" （ 如 ballet/ piano/ Kumon/ phonics .... etc.) 先係最好 & 最適合小朋友  ....

K 1 - 3 呢個"[size=small]HoneyMoon" 階段，家長其實可考慮与子女們一同：-

-做下義工，
-參加報章雜誌上既填色比賽/ 遊戲/ 文章分享
-參加各式各樣既社區親子活動
-自行參加各類開放參觀活動 （例如最近既"免費"參觀天文台" & 禮賓府...等等）

以上都係名乎其實既"課外活動"呀 - 學校有安排故然好，無既， 又或者覺得唔足夠既，咪可以按照自己既時間 & 意願去安排囉 ！ 小童軍， 小狼隊，少年警訊....等等，我個人覺得係（呢個階段）太細喇~~:-|

SPK (K 3) 女仔多數自動升番上 SPC ( P. 1 @  幼稚園格離), 當然有個別家長會另覓"更"心儀小學比女兒們 （eg. St. Paul Co-Ed, St. Stephen's Girls , Canossan... etc.) 男仔就唔洗講 tim 啦... SPC 中小學都係女校！ BTW, 你鍾意跑馬地間 St. Paul's Primary 咩？

K1小朋友都期望快d升K3，因為K3真係好多outing，好開心．我想如果課程艱深的幼稚園必定不能�不會提供那麼多的課堂活動了．魚與熊掌，很難兼得，唯有各取所需啦 :wink:

當K3小朋友快畢業時，便會指派另一位K2學妹做保母車大隊長，我囡當年有幸被委任，佢覺得好自豪 :  現在佢最期望既係快Ｄ甩牙，因為咁係表示佢大個女喎

So glad that you are all helpful to share the information of SPK with new parents.  For me, your replies do ease my worries and doubts...  

Extra-curricular activites are not my major concern in choosing the kinder, but knowing the school does little in this respect I can then make my own plan for my daughter.

One more question, pl see if anyone could help:
is the syllabus of the primary school one year ahead of other schools?  are all subjects taught in English?

BTW, Looks like most of BK parent like their girls to go to SPC. But, will SPC have enough spaces for all the graduates from SPK  

Could anyone also share the difference between "SPC" & "SP Primary" in Happy Valley ??  Again, many thanks

Dear pre-SPK parents:

Listed below are the 3 websites for your reference so you may know more about SPCS. Regarding the chances for K3 students to be admitted to P1 : the total no. of intake in P1 is 200 and for kindergarten K3, it will have 180 kids plus 60 kids in nursery then less the boys plus some parents will try other primary, e.g. SP co-edu, .... The chance should be quite high.

Regarding the difference between SPCS (CWB)and SPSS (Happy Valley),  not sure if it is the case right now. I remember when I was at the age of 6, my mom has to choose between these 2 schools on behalf of me, and she was told that the girls from SPCS will be more active whereas those from SPSS will be more quiet.  Also, SPCS is good at Arts subjects (English, writing, etc) whereas SPSS is good at Science subjects (Maths).

Dear Ramomo,

Do you know if the graduates from St. Paul's Catholic Day Nursery in Tai Po would have the same preference for admission to P1 of SPC?  

Also, if the graduates from nursery will have preference over the graduates from kindergarten for admission to P1 of SPC?

I am in the stage to make decision.  Now, both True Light & SPK accepted my bb.  Both are good schools.  

TL gurantees that all graduates could enter into TL primary, while SPK has no gurantee.  

Could anyone share your views...particularly, on the chances to get into primary schools...

Understand this may not be good for the subject "SPK Parent'd Club"... but this is best place to get SPK parent's view...thks for sharing in advance

其實大部份家長們（包括我在內），一但知道自己個小朋友被SPK 收左 （K 1) 後，都又開心，又唔開心 - 特別係住得遠一點既家長們；又或者已經有1-2 個選擇，唔知點揀。真係要好好"衡量" & 分配時間 & 金錢（校車費用....等等）我就由始至終，都依然覺得揀 SPK 係一個[size=small]好好既決定喇。

老實講, spk既好處就係你所講既一間名校, 而且又有一條龍我前排睇星島教育版仲講st.paul convent係100%入大學添! 咁佢地幼稚園3年係冇功課冇考試冇默書, 學科上比較少, 老師之前話k2先開始正式學寫字, 嚴唔嚴就睇你接受程度, 例如每日都要紮辮, 行路要輕步, 要斯文, 我個囡本身好粗"老"架, 行路都係跳架, 初時我都有諗自己個囡得唔得, 但係讀左後發覺係得既, 因為成校既人係咁佢好自然變左咁, 我覺得係好事, 至於其他, 我估要睇班主任, 好似我個囡個班主任, 我覺得佢好有對付小朋友既一套方法, 但係我個囡好尊重佢架, 咁佢地放長假係唔會有假期功課, 因為校長之前話如果放假比功課咁做乜野要放假, 我覺得好岩我呀 因為唔洗放假都要猛咁趕佢做功課, 學校既意思係唔想猛咁比功課佢地等佢地塞d野入個腦到, 想佢地好輕鬆咁學野, 咁佢地冇壓力下自然會唔怕問問題, 係好奇心下佢地自然而輕鬆地吸收知識, 我好buy佢地呢個理念,同埋我覺得只有一條龍既學校先可以咁做, 因為唔係一條龍既學校佢地為左要升好既一年級學校, 好多時都要谷d學生

My daughter was also offered a place in AM session in comming Sept.  Could you provide the information on school bus or van from Lai Chi Kok or Meifu to SPK?  
Is there any thing I need to bring along on 4th of June for registration?  Do I need to pay for the school fee (in cash or cheq) on that day?  Will SPK send us a letter for details of registration?Thanks a lot.
