Did Miss Cheng really mention something about social skills ?  Wow !

Do you remember earlier when it rained heavily in a morning ?  The sky suddenly got dark.  Davin was scared.  Miss Cheng said Preston & Hei Ching offered to take care of Davin.  So lovely.  That's why Davin likes to sit beside them esp. when the weather is not good.  Ha !  So, no worry, Preston is doing good at social skill.

HI,  remember me? My kid studies in Hoi Fan branch K1. I wonder if any mom discussing in this topic ever think of letting their kids to go to the P/E class instead of C/E class in K2?

I have signed up for my boy to study in the P/E class, but still have to wait and see exactly how many ppl will sign up for it.

What do you think?

Hi.  I've no plan to let my kid studying in PE class.  Instead, maybe I'll let him take Putonghua course outside school.

I talked to the teachers for about 15 minutes.  They told me something in small details & I appreciated a lot.  They also mentioned the things to be learnt for the rest of K1 & K2.

I observe that Brian always like to be the first one in the queue.  Davin used to compete with Brian for some time but recently he does not insist & ask to be the first one.

I also think the teachers are good in observing details of the kids. What did they say about Davin, did he improve a lot?

Yes, Davin had improved a lot & basically can fully express himself & communicate with the others.  We also discussed about EQ (which you & Doris are also concerned about).  They said every kid has got EQ problem to a certain extent & it's okay provide you give him correct way of treating his own emotion.  They are doing personal guidance of EQ improvement as well.

Forgot to tell you that my interview session lasted for 15 minutes.

I may not consider PE class coz my son learns and express better in his mother tongue. He's too shy to speak out in the 1st place so talking in Mandarin will not help in his situation.

According to Miss Cheng, Brian showed marked improvement in the second term.  The home training works.  However, he still needs to improve his EQ (improved, but can be better).

Preston was so nice that he reminded Miss Cheng to give me a call.  Miss Cheng did call me and told me Brian's performance on that day.  He's alright on the whole but it's just he felt a bit upset when he saw other parents.

Brian likes to hold the teacher's hands.  I think he will feel more secure in doing so.  He told me that it makes no difference whether he can stand in the front but he just likes to do it.

Good to hear tha Davin is improving so much in different aspects. So you said they're more ahead than PE class? Maybe it's different coz they need to learn Mandarin as well at the same time.

The teachers did not say clearly which class K1B is ahead of. They just said the progress was ahead of the other classes in K1.  I agree with your point.

It's good that the classes can have flexibility in their teaching schedule.  Kids can benefit more if the progress suits them.

I went to see a respiratory specialist this afternoon.  I've got allergy at my trachea and bronchi.  That's why I've been coughing for over two weeks.  The feeling of taking medicines for that long is for sure not good.

As far as I know,海逸校的校長should be葉秀珍. You can call to make sure.

I didn't take days off as I have special duties in these two months.  If I take days off, some events will have to be postponed and my colleagues will suffer.  
I definitely have to talk a lot in my work and this will induce my coughing.  However, I will consider taking days off only when my condition is getting worse.

Davin suffered from serious cold & took the day off today.  Hope he'd feel better after the 2nd visit (to another clinic) & be back to school tmr.
