Don't be so extreme.
Some parents like me also allow my boy to make the informed decision. He prefers IB >> NSS, for better learning methodology, he also needs to do extremely well in examination so that have a chance for popular programs that he picks.

正正有如一句話「錢不是万能的, 但沒錢卻万万不能」. 其實只要一天學制是用分數來衡量學生的質素的話, 一天求學也沒可能不求分數. 但當然是求學問, 講興趣行先. 不代表可以灑脫到不理分數吧. 當我有85分時, 我不會為了拿90分而去補習, 但若果只有65分, 恐怕還是會為有機會提升高點分數而補習. 有興趣自然高分.....部份正確吧, 未計學生的答題技巧和小心與否. 但的確有興趣是事半功倍的. 小女英文科不俗, 她喜歡這科, 考得好, 良性循環, 更積極. 中文科卻很爛, 我跟中文科老師溝通, 只望老師能提升小女對中文科的興趣, 最起碼也不要抗拒這科, 願矣.

我相信求學不是求分數，也相信愉快學習。不合格，自己小時候，試得多，女兒小學時，也多次不合格。我不認為是問題，學習過程中，有錯誤是很正常的。

The 分數 represent learning assessment, one of the indicators to demonstrate how the kid can benefit from the knowledge learning, or for parental reference to understand the learning outcome of the kid, if the learnings are on the right track...

However, there are so many factors affecting the assessment. So my point of view : I think .分數 is important, as part of the learning indicator..and inform my on what needs to be done more or less on the child.

Just read my son's TOK essay, your remarks similar to his argument in knowledge acquisition. If he scores 7, no problem to me.....

求分數的小朋友，重點是分數，他們只爭朝夕，為一兩分，一兩個排名要生要死，加補習加練習。學問如何？唔知，亦無人 care。<------但若果能學以致用,多一兩分，爭先一兩個排名在升中or升大學階段, 爭到與爭不到隨時可影響晒小朋友未來的一生呵

還是有分別的呵。

如果我们要爭的是指定的某年入某一间指定的大学, 那影響是有分别的, 却未至于所谓的: 影響晒小朋友未來的一生呵

林书豪未能入心仪的Stanford, (可能是因中学蓝球队属division 2), 心情当然有点徬惶. 拿想到给Harvard 录取. 再者可以一年gap year 去传道, 明年再接再励. 另有出路读University of Chicago, UCLA, Berkley, 今天咪一样是母校之光, 大把旧友, ,老师, 教会爭住认亲认戚.

林书豪未能入心仪的Stanford 正正就系"影響晒小朋友未來的一生" 既例子.......雖然我地沒有辦法知道林书豪入到的話,他是否比今天的林书豪更好or更壞....., 但我肯定林书豪已經不是今天的林书豪呵......
