Re: 讀名校.....
| to Thinker: "After all these years, quality of those university graduates is substanially decreased, this is the fact, what went wrong?"

I thought about this for quite some years after working with many young graduates and after my son goes to primary school.

 I figured out this:

 1. these young people were born in late 70s to 80s, they got maids in their childhood, they had extra tuitions, their mum taught them, they never needed to cook when they were kids, they never need to look after their younger brothers or sisters, they did not need to do any house work.

 2. my generation - need to do a bit of housework because there were no maid,no one went to private tuitor as no one could afford that, mum needed to work to get money for the family.

3.- my boss- born in late 40s - need to do anything to survive but there were food.

 4. my big boss- born in the 20s - need to fight for food, for education, for everything.

so I think kids need to do " work", not "homework", these are the chance of building up ability- ability to deal with people, to speak up, to have self control and discipline, kids in USA or UK or even in Japan have these chances- delivery newspaper, cutting grass, etc.because most people have no maid but kids in hong kong don't need to do " work".

the worry that our kid would lose when they compete with china's kids for future opportunity is , perhaps,  true.
