Hi Jerryma,

My daughter was not from APS kindergarten.  

I heard it was the case to line-up for the application before.  But this year we only need to send a letter with returned envelop to get it.  There was no headache at all.  But they had quite a lot of applicatnts. You may call the school office to learn about the details around Sept.  

We were just on time on the day of interview, I only take my daughter to the school hall.  She lined up together with about ten students to get inside somewhere.  They only interview the children.  I can bearly remember what she was asked but it was something English, Chinese and Maths.  As I remember she told me it was easier than Kowloon Tong School (She also got accepted there)   

They start summer class today.  There were 3 classes for P1.  They had Chinese, Maths and Music
classes.  I guess she will get some little worksheets to do later on. It think I will get more to tell you later on.

What do you think of the parents day on saturday?  I was late and I don't know what I missed.  I heard that they showed some musical performance.  How was it???

What musical instrument did your children get assigned?  Mine is violin.  I don't quite like it. I wonder if the students can learn something else or they have no choice for the coming years.

Would some parents tell me if they assigned for the P1 class already.  Is it like 1A-1D or by colours?  I saw the notice for musical trainning is something with colours but not the same colour group as the summer class.  I wonder if that is the class for the coming school year!

I did not really walk around the school.  But I guess one bad thing about this school is that they have no outdoor playground.  Do they have P.E. over the hall.

點解唔鐘意 "Violin"，如果唔鐘意可以轉其他樂器，我朋友原先學校安排佢學"Clarinet"，佢唔識這樂器，要求轉Violin，都轉到，所以你可以試下啦。

昨天學校介紹了幾件樂器，由學生演奏，有Viola, Double Bass, Tuba, Oboe, 只是數分鐘表演，也是由低年級學生演奏，其中Oboe我覺得最好聽。

我是紫色組，我想學校未編班吧。我都想知學校有冇操場，小息只可在班房及走廊走動。好似悶D

I try to check my email account but I don't see your mail. Hope you have saved your copy and send me again!

My daughter told me yesterday that they went up to the 7th floor for drawing.  She said it was a indoor playground.  

It is quite boring that they don't have a tuck shop for snack and drinks. It is not a bad idea because snack is no good for them but for the coming six year they have less chance to learn about exchange and handle their own budget.  And it is quite straight not to allow bringing any food other than bread and biscuits!  Lucky that my daughter does not enjoy eating much.

Have you bought what they asked us to buy?  I have a few questions.  The size of the sketch book is kind of small that I don't want to buy for now.  Don't you think it is small for drawing (20cmx15cm) and so as the size of the bag for art.  Is it something like a shopping bag that they don't put in their school bag but to carry all the art stuff?

What about the mat for art?  Do they need two mats?  One for art and one for lunch?  Do they need to take them home?  

Is the handkachief they asked to bring for lunch is for wiping mouth or cleaning the mat?

The summer class has passed by two weeks.  What do you think of the school??

My kid returned yesterday with little depressed.  When I asked her, she said that she only got grade 3 in the worksheet exercise. "What's grade 3 mean?" I asked and she replied that there were 8-9 students got A as grade 1, 10-15 students got A- as grade 2 and remainings were grade 3.  I told her "you are the best if you have already done your best in the worksheet."

你的問題真是問得好，學校要買個本sketch book的確好細本唔夠A4 Size(29.5cm x 24cm)大，不過通告寫住(約)(20cm x 15cm)等我明天問一問學校，至於膠檯墊，我想真的要2張，1張食飯，1張美勞，朋友話佢上美勞時用雞皮紙墊檯，另外濕毛巾應該是抹手。

我想問學校的冷氣是否很大呢?是否須要穿著內衣?

I asked my daughter if the teacher said anything about ranking and she said nothing like that.  I guess may be they are in different class.  So far she seems enjoying the summer class.  And I guess she likes music class as she mentioned about the teacher likes joking with them!

Thanks so much for your valuable advice.  Your sons are so smart and I believe they are good and thus they both got chosen to perform over the parents' day!  Good job!

I am still puzzling about my daughter's musical trainning.  She was chosen for violin and I believe violin is too popular and it is difficult to be outstanding.  I heard it is better advantage to be in woodwind team for secondary admission. I don't want to waste time  but my daughter is quite small in size and I don't know what she wants to learn. She is now learning piano and she learned violin at her kindergarten!  So what would you think about that!! So headache!!  Is it too late to change because I just hand in the reply slip!!

Really....but double bass is really big!  And it does not sound attractive to me!  What about saxophone?? is it "head heng" too??

If I need to talk to the school?  Should I try to talk to Miss Wong or the headmistress??  Last time when I was late for the reply slip, I also try to ask the officier to let Miss Wong call me.  But she said that it is not neccessary.

小一學saxophone冇問題，好似唔使買細D，只要拆走尾部便可，老師會教你點做。不過最好問下 呀Sir 或者 Tom Lee 。如果學saxophone跟蔡Sir學一流！

Thanks for your reply, I feel quite helpless sometimes because I do not really know what to do!  

I passed by Parson today and asked what is the proper age for learning saxophone.  The sales said it is better to be 10 and he said that the parts of the  saxophone can't be reomoved.  I am not sure how professional he is!  But I feel so much more headache!
