Actually , my budget is around 5萬，I bought for kid who only g1 only. I want a non Chinese made one and so also think of u2 but it is out of budget now .

Kawai K5 is in your budget range. However, say 5 years later, the resale value of K5 drops much faster than Yamaha U1.

If can afford I want to buy brand new Yamaha yus3. Costs hkd80000 now but if I sell 10 years later maybe can sell more than hkd 90000. I m thinking buying second hand Yamaha 30 yeArs old is hkd30000 but I don't think the price is hkd 30000 or more thirty years ago. May be a lot less than this ? Can we actually earn money selling old piano like Rolex ? Just curious

其實Yamaha鋼琴呢十年咁好彩, 折舊左都升值係偶然事, 因為日元由2002年起狂升至今(剛剛回返少少)。
如Yamaha U1, 2005年TomLee賣3萬幾, 家下5萬幾(Cash Deal), HKD唔值錢。
如果想保值, 去拍賣會幾萬銀投隻小提琴好D(同教育離左題, 下次再講)
三十年鋼琴, 如果未回廠Reconditioning, 都係唔好冒險, 木料同布料隨時間溫濕改變左, Tune唔返, 係要回廠換料用儀器較正的。
所以二手琴倉都係去日本收三十年琴回港, 因為唔值錢, 但又大把水魚被牌子吸引,好好賺。(BK好多文章提過呢D bad experience)

I saw in pianoworld.com, those people will try to find some 20s or 30s century old Steinways piano, why those old paino can keep so old but not for Yamaha or Kawai ?

市場上始終有一大群買家, 相信(或迷信)歐洲木材及人手工藝, 他們把舊琴當成古董和藝術品一樣看待, 因此是不同的市場了。
不過講實用, 一切就不同了。
你會見馬友友用某某富商借出古董提琴, 但很少見郎朗表演時用古董琴(當然他有品牌贊助商了), 不是價值, 而是音色問題。
美國在廿世紀初至六十年代成為全球最大鋼琴生產國, 但至今名牌不多。日本在六至八十年代取代了美國, 九十年代起是中國在生產量上稱霸。但一如汽車市場, 歐洲車始終有其至高地位, 不管技術上日本如何領先世界。

ming2 : 因設計問題房間門口入口只有 60cm, 很多琴行話唔可以拆琴入去再裝, 只有 TL 話可以,我想問會不會影響琴的聲音, Thanks!

我講下笑啫, 投資保值方法人人唔同。
不過, 小提琴呢十年升得仲快過紅酒是事實, 其中一個可能是中俄兩國的富豪買起晒。
