Believe in your kid's ability.  With a boy in FS2, I believe PY know you share his education logos.  Let us know when you receive the letter wo.

Besides, your son's performance at "read  aloud program" is very good!!!

Nice to talk to you!

Paying attention to the kid's progress is often necessary.  But it does not necessary mean that Private Tutoring is a MUST.  I promote to induce their interest to learn.  Think about the learning style of your kid and try to arouse his/her interest through that way.  Then, they will learn happily.

My daughter is also in FS2.  No private tutoring.  I quite like to PLAY the "utonghua Read Aloud" worksheet with her.  If you still remember the notice given by the Putonghua Teacher last year, I think you should rememeber it stated that "arents.... try to talk to your kid in Putonghua as much as possible, even though if your Putonghua is not of standard.... we (teachers) will help them.... create the Putonghua environment will help your kid to learn faster....."

Besides, we, FS2 parents have recently started runing an "English Read Aloud" program to the boys/girls.  Some of the kids have joined it.  They are encouraged to participate in the program without any stress.  If you want to know more details, let me know.  I could give you the details.

Non education-related activities : many (ha ha)

Besides, it seems Logos has started to teach Chinese in Putonghua this year, during the Putonghua lessson.  The teacher does not only focus on teaching the phonetic symbols, but also some Chinese articles.  You may find it from their recent worksheet.  It seems to me that it is a good GRADUAL change and to let the boys/girls to get prepare for the DS1 Chinese lesson which will be fully taught in Putonghua.

Try to understand what your kid's preference.  My daughter involves in some non-academic activites and spends quite a lot of time on weekend on them.  However, as all the activities are chosen by her, she is quite happy with them.

However, I DO have some simple principles in choosing the activies for my daughter.

1. At my daughter's interest.  

2. Fully discuss before letting her to join any activities.  I don't want her to retreat any program when facing difficulty.  So, I won't easily accept my daughter's request in joining new activities until she really show me that she will have persistence.

3. Good health is the first priority.  She needs to have enough sleeping.  If she is too busy, I would discuss with her and decide if need to cut any activities.

As i know there are only Kumon Chi, Eng, Maths (correct me if i am wrong). I consider Kumon belongs to 1 of them.

50% is a roughtly guess, tutorials are very propularl in primary students. I am not against tutorial but I don't want BK parents have wrong impression that there are only very small no. of Logos students going for tutorial (Chi, Eng, Maths).

If Kumon is considered one of them, then, maybe the figures do stand a bit higher for Kumon math but i'm skeptical about the substantially high % of reaching up to 50% or more.   Besides, I doubt our kids will ever need to do tutorials in Eng. or Chinese.

For Chinese language (not putonghua), I think it's hard to get a suitable tutoring.  The Chinese class is so thoughtfully designed and I find it of high standard.  If you are not a "High Hand" (experienced and knowledgeable in Chinese), it is hard to help Logos' kid to APPRECIATE Chinese literature, not just Chinese language.

Hi deniset,

Are you familar with the Logos' Winter Tee design?  I find the "Shoulder length" is short, comparing to the sleeves.  Is it a "In Shoulder" designer?

Hi qq_dad,
The shoulder width is slightly smaller compared to the summer uniform but this time there are more sizes offered. So, I guess the grading difference is less between one size to the next. For safety, try to order one size up for your girl. I will do the same.

Thanks for your advise.  Will do the same.  But if it fits the shoulder, the sleeves and the back length will be very long, ha ha.

KenMaMa said that she was very much delighted and moved when she was an audience watching the PC's performance for the function 恩語獻春風, yet her excuses for not joining us are many and somehow established such as: cannot sing well, busy in manning the house and occupied by the elder son on weekends. In fact she's a shy lady . Anyway, she has been under my persuasion to come to us to have a personal encounter with our happiness, joyfulness and unionship. I promise that one day I would kidnap her to come but not on 21 Oct as she has to participate in the parents' meeting held in the elder son's school.
BTW, when shall we meet with your qq-mum   ?  Hide and seek ?

I share with qq_dad that your another half looking very familiar and I wonder if he's a ... famous doctor, merchant or movie star       ?  For the winter T-shirts, I prefer to place the length of sleeves a more crucial criteria to determine the size.   :idea:

I'm not sure what was the situation .... but I'm sure and remember that you were tough and brave and did engage yourself in fighting back hand-in-hand with me several months ago !  We are on the same boat !  Your opinions, suggestions and enlightenments to the school and to us are most welcome ! You are most welcome to reunion with us !!

I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to Cow who has been keeping silence too long   .  Please release yourself but come forth to us.  It is our pleasure to join together and we should treasure what we have got .... a group of teachers, staff and the Principal who are so whole-heartedly and devotedly in running the school for our kids and behind our children, here is the strong force of parents standing firm and stern.  If we find areas with rooms for improvement, let's raise them out.  Do try to express ourselves for the sakes of our kids but not for demonstrating our wits.  Monitor the progress to see enhancements but not to demand one-step achievements.  Dear Cow, as you are a Logos parent, a thoughtful and constructive parent, we welcome you !!  I will not consider what was the past as the past had been passed, I will look forward to the future hand-in-hand with you !!!
