welcome back.  your little girl ka ka really behaves like a big girl or 'little adult'.  she likes to talk to the parents in the classroom before morning exercise session.  does she enjoy full day school ?  when does she sleep at night ?  i know kids are allowed to sleep for about an hour at school.

I have 2 days free since my in-laws are going back to mainland.  Basically, I have got quite some plans during the Easter school holiday.  Let's share some good activities later.

Btw, I also intend to let Davin take school bus back home in the next academic year.

My son also gets on the school bus at Roayl Peninsula (block 4). 2 ys old maybe a bit too young but Mrs. Yiu(the helper) is very nice and she will take good care of your son. It takes around 15-20 min. coz it has to go around Whampoa garden. You can take the school bus with your son for the first few days.

It's good to let the kid take the school bus. Preston is happy to take the bus coz he can sit and chat with his friends. It's another experience for them.

Dear all,

It's good to see a lot of messages today.  Just returned from Disneyland (again!).  At first, we planned to go to Ocean Park.  However, my parents were free so we invited them to join.  Disneyland seems to be a better place then Ocean Park for them.  It's a bit cold, especially in pm, so we left early.

I also think this is a good experience for Davin to take school bus after school.  He will like it.

I brought Brian to school on Monday morning.  Ka Ka was standing next to Brian in the playground before the morning exercise.  She suddenly came to me and held my hand.  When I bowed down and said good morning to her, she felt shy.  So lovely!

You went to Disneyland with Brian again ?  How many times have you been there ?  Though I can go there FOC, my husband doesn't like to go there for many times as he thinks it's too small.

Disneyland is Brian's favourite place.  To us, it's too small.  But to the kids, Disneyland is just enough for them to enjoy for hours.

BTW, will Davin be interested in Kumon Math as well?  Cheuk Yan's Mom invited Brian to take the trial classes with Cheuk Yan.  The trial classes are available in all Kumon centres in April.

What does Brian like to play at Disneyland? We went once when Preston was 2 1/2 yrs old. There was not much games for kids except phottaking with the cartoon characters. We may go again this summer but I'm worried that there isn't much for kids. Also, I gues you must have bought the annual pass coz you have gone so many times. Personally I prefer Ocean park more.

For the Kumon math, they have free trial class now. Preston is getting bored with Kumon homework recently. I found them quite boring too. I need to make a lot of encouragement and effort for him to finish the homeowrk every day. They need to finish 10 pages of homework everyday no matter holiday or not and they're quite repetitive. It's a good way to train them to do homework independently but it's not easy for us.

Thanks for your info.  I also know that Kumon offers free trial lesson.  I've been thinking about this.  My concern is also that the homework is too repetitive, like Lydia mentioned.  Unfortunately, I live in Kln City area & can't take lesson with those who live in Hung Hom area.

I do think that kids love Disneyland.  Lydia, believe me, Disneyland is interesting enough for kids to hang around the whole day.  Kids are even excited when they see Disney characters in the Park.  To Davin, he likes all places where there are games to play.

Brian likes the rides in Disneyland very much, esp Winnie the Pooh and Buzz Lightyear.  Usually, we spent most of the time in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.  If Brian still wanted to play after lunch, we would go to Advertureland.  Brian is still interested in going there even if he had been there for so many times (just like JumpinGym).  He prefers Disneyland to Ocean Park.

I think the learning strategies used in Kumon may not be suitable for small kids in kinders.  However, it's not bad to let them try as there are just four trial lessons.  Brian and Cheuk Yan will go to the Kumon Centre in Whampoa Garden.

Did you enjoy the holiday with your son ?

We went out everyday & we had one major activity each day.  I thought Davin had enjoyed.  Btw, I visited the Tai Po Park for the first time yesterday & it was quite okay.

Cheuk Yan's Mom and I will attend the information session this Saturday and we will choose the time for lessons after that.  On which day of the week will Preston go to Kumon?  Maybe we can choose the same time slot so the kids will meet then.

Brian didn't enjoy the holiday much as he's got inflammation in his trachea.  He's been coughing for 2 weeks.  The doctor prescribed some medicines to cease his coughing and remove the mucus but the medicines didn't work and his condition was getting worse.  Now, he is taking antibiotics and is recovering quickly.

Preston used to attend Tue but will change to Sat 2-3pm this week. See if you can arrange the time and so the kids can meet.

Davin also started to cough during the holiday & he visited the doctor twice.  Not fully recovered yet.
