Somehow I don't like long school holiday as Davin likes schooling a lot.  And, on the 1st day back to school after long holiday, kids are the in the mood.  Yet, if we can take leave during their holiday, we can spend more time with them.

I agree with ljsze. I don't like long school holidays. I rather they go to school and learn than staying at home.
I talked to Miss Cheng too. She said Preston's emotion has improved a lot too, basically no bad emotion recently. She also said he is very helpful to other kids (to me, it's more like諸事八卦), that's why a lot of classmates like Preston. She said Preston has some charisma that attracts others She said during tea time, a lot of kids will ask to sit next to Preston and sometimes she had difficulty arranging the seats Anyway, I really need to thank her for the caring and training that she gives to the kids. Also, I think Preston now is in the 'stable' stage (you know, every half a year they act differently) and even at home, he is behaving pretty well (most of the time, of course).

Do you remember Dr. Chow Yuen Fun that gave us the talk last Nov? I heard a friend said her centre offers very good EQ course for kids. Preston will go for assessment later and maybe I will let him join the EQ course. Will let you know about this if you're interested.

I took care of Brian alone in the past four days and I have to work again today.  Hope I can be efficient.

Brian also loves schooling very much.  I am sure he will miss the teachers and his friends.  

I invited Chuek Yan to play with Brian yesterday afternoon in a Park.  Brian played more happily than when he played alone.

It's good to know that Preston is so popular.  I think it will be funny to see the other kids competing for sitting next to him.

BTW, where is Dr. Chow's office?  I think it's also good to let Brian join the EQ course.  Could you please give me more information later?  Thanks.

I think the teacher likes to tell you good things more than bad things. Anyway, it's nice to see improvement.
Dr. Chow's office is in North Point. I heard of some other psychologist as well but they are more commercial and Dr. Chow teaches the course by herself. Will let you know the details later.

Took the day off yesterday & got no time to chat with you.

Yes, it's better to go to school & learn rather than staying at home with my in-laws.  So, whenever there's school holiday, I'll try to accomodate my schedule & take some days off as well.

Good to hear the improvement of Preston as well.  I also think it's interesting to see the kids competing to sit next to Preston.  What exactly is the attraction of Preston, Lydia ?

Btw, I took Davin to the AIA carnival yesterday (we got 2 adult admission tickets FOC).  I did not buy any ticket for Davin.  Though many of the rides are for big kids & adults, there are quite some rides for our kids.  And, there are a lot of games that your kid can participate.  My son enjoyed a lot.  If you have time, I also suggest you paying a visit.  You may refer to the website for details :-

Actually the kids requested to sit with Preston, not really competing (I think). Miss Cheng said Preston likes to help others (I really query about this), like handing tissue if someone was crying or picked up garbage or helped others with the classwork. Maybe that's why other kids like to play with him. I guess similar as Davin, that's why Preston likes to play with Davin too. It's good that the teacher teaches them with good behaviour.

Did you buy the annual pass? You went to the Disneyland for a lot of times. I guess Brian must like disneyland a lot.

Miss Cheng said Davin also helped the other kids sometimes but I think definitely not as much as Preston.  Maybe Davin copies the behaviour of Preston.

What did you guys do over the holidays? Yesterday we visited my mother-in-law and then my sister-in-law. Preston was so happy to play with his cousins (10 and 14ys old girsl) and did not want to leave. So at the end he did not take any afternoon nap (actually he did not take a nap 2 days in a row already) and he's perfectly fine. I guess he is starting to get old enough that he does no require afternoon nap. Today we went to the peak and saw nothing coz it's too foggy.

Does Preston meet his cousins often ?  Since I live with my in-laws, the situation is a bit different.  My sister-in-law & her daughter (12 yrs) old come to my home from time to time.  So, we meet roughly every fortnight.  Davin does play with his cousin but not all the time. My niece usually surfs the web & play online games for most of the time at my home.

We did nothing else but family gathering these few days.  My in-laws are out of town but my husband is busy entertaining his friend who returns from the UK every year.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

I have just passed three busy days.  My family visited the houses of many relatives on the first two days of CNY.  My relatives came to my house yesterday for mahjong and dinner.

I need to work on Thursday and Friday.  My husband will take a few days off and go to the house in China with Brian and my parents.

Preston only sees his cousins a few times a year but he likes to play with them.

We don't really have to visit a lot of relatives so we got a lot of times to go out. Yesterday we went BBQ with my old collegues and Preston enjoyed playing with other kids.
Have you made the music instrument? I have no idea what to make.

Good for Davin. Is he taking piano lesson now? Have you got a piano at home? I want to buy a piano for Preston as he is learning now but I'm not sure how long his interest can last. It's not only $ but space is a problem too. I need to make a good decision so I won't regret, otherwise that huge thing will be occupying half of my living room.

Davin is not taking piano lesson, just music lesson in Yip's which starts at 10am every Sunday.  So far so good.  I know there are some shops for piano rental & I think this is a good alternative.

I'm sorry to disturb, but I really would like to have some advice from you all, experience parents of 學之園(海逸校).

My son is now studying N1 (nursery class) in 保護兒童會中銀幼兒園.  Frankly, this nursery is quite good when comparing with those estate grade kindergardens (systemetic, professional, activities orientated)  

As I concerned the Eng & Mad language level, I'm thinking whether transfer him to 學之園(海逸校) or Think International in coming K1 (Sep07) (Both have admitted him).  It's not a easy decision, it is a big thing for my son.

Could you tell me more of the curriculum?  For example, what kind of programe was organized for the CNY?

Another thing is school fee?  Any new arrangements after the confirmation of 學劵制?

Choosing a good kindergarten is a big thing for every kid. Every one has different expectations from kindergarten, e.g. acedemic, teachers quality, school fee, etc. For the parents of LH, we highly recommended this school regarding the teachers quality and the cirriculum,esp. the language skills. My son can speak Chinese and English fluently and so as many other kids in K1. However, the school is not qualified for 學劵 due to high school fee (not very high, ~$3000 and not much extra fee). I don't know where you live, but for Hung Hom district, I like this school very much and will let my son finish his kindergarten here.

I share the same view as Lydia.  We live in Kln City & we still choose to go to this school rather than the schools in Kln Tong which is much closer.

You two have just reminded me of making the musical instrument.  Some students in K1B have already submitted the instrument before the CNY holidays.  I am thinking of what instrument to make.
