Is it really necessary to apply for 6,7,8 ...schools?  Or ask the kid to join Kumon Chinese, Kumon English, Kumon Maths, Kumon Mandarin and interview class???  No wonder the parents are so tired.

Age 3 to 5 is the happiest time for a kid, homework and competition pressure is minimal.  Why don't we treasure these few years and enjoy more with the kids?

For applying P.1, I think selecting 2 to max. 3 schools as targets is quite enough.  If the kid is happy and self-confident, he/she should be able to perform during interviews.

Agree with WYmon! I had apply three 私小 only for my daughter even she got only 10 points at the 1st round of "lucky draw".

5 仟萬 對唔同人有唔同咁覺 = 小學學位

有人覺得 :
1) 一定要到手 ~~~~ 大包圍 ( 複式,膽拖, 7個字, 電腦.... = 入名幼稚園 + 上面試班 + 學呢學路 + 考乜考物 + 靠人事
2) 碰碰運氣 ~~ 求其打條 7 個字 / 電腦 /自選 = 遞表 2 ~ 3 間試下啦, in 下睇下點
3) 邊度論到我中丫, 費事買 = 等大抽獎
4) 5 仟萬咋, 咁少, 都未夠我炒 2 轉 = 都諗住送佢走, 費事同你顛

咁你地覺得係邊種, 每個需要唔同

我諗每位(包括我自已)最終目的，都係想為自已小朋友搵一間適合既小學。

阿囡 in 完間間小學都係笑容滿面咁出來, 對佢黎講, 去小學 interview 等於去參觀一個地方, 見下其他小朋友, 同 d 老師或者校長傾下偈, 又或者答d IQ 題咁解.
佢好開心, 亦都有自信, 但我聽完佢 in 的內容同佢既回答就一d都唔開心, 連標榜創意、愉快學習的學校 interview 都要小朋友讀中英圖書各一本, 阿囡用 Phonics 好努力咁讀英文書都俾老師叫停, 老師懂得欣賞乎?!
Q1: "最鍾意食既食物?"  A: "糖"
Q2: "最唔鍾意食既食物?" A: "飯"
夠自然、夠童真勒掛, 絕對唔係面試班出品, 但呢d答案去到一般面試老師既耳中, 值幾多分呢?
係唔係開心、有自信, d 學校就會用 5 歲小朋友的標準收左佢呢? (事實上, 我覺得現今5歲的小朋友識既野, 就算唔催谷, 好多都已超哂班)
經過小一申請洗禮, 我雖然依然唔認同小朋友去操咩公文中英數, 但都好同情呢班頻撲的家長, 既然預期唔到人地收唔收你, 為左仔女的教育, 遇到撞期, 頻撲 d 難免, 輕鬆面對、得失心唔好咁重得啦.

真誠對答唔一定無人欣賞既。
我姪女去考St Paul’s Co-ed，
佢有幸成為少數有second-in既小朋友。
佢first interview點？
同一樣比本好深既英文書佢讀，
之後小妹妹打開睇睇之後話︰
「校長，好深我唔識吖。你可唔可以教我讀吖？」
校長︰「好，我教你。」
如是者，校長一句，小妮子跟一句讀著，
都讀左差不多10分鐘。
到而家都未知姪女會否被取錄，
但佢過人之處是有童真，不恥下問，
呢樣係而家呢個時勢實屬難得吖。

Unfortunately, it is a dilemma in today's allocation system. If you want to apply for private and direct subsidy school, certain degree of academic training seems to be unavoidable.
My kid is studying in a "happy and interactive" KG and I'm quite satisfying with her academic standard and personality developement. She 's very happy and motivated to learn. She asks questions a lot. She practices piano on her own everyday.... But if she comes to interview with the primary school, her mandarin and english is not that good comparing with other students from those famous KG..... So, even though she has lots of potential from a mother's eye, she's not that competitive in today's scenario.

我估絕大部分名校都不是以學生之中英文水平為主要考慮因素，就算SFA考筆試，也是主要考學生之IQ(這就是為甚麽很多學生出來之版本不同之主要因素)。

所以，mandarin and english is not that good comparing with other students並唔紧要，只要有 potential，好的學校自然會收。

我始终覺得幼兒園不用默書考試，甚至唔讀幼兒園，也没問題。
