Note that for Mech Engineering at ICL, the A*A*A shown on the front page is the min requirement, while the typical offer is in fact A*A*A*. So, it may happen that your Oxbridge offer is A*A*A while your ICL's is A*A*A*. (All of them require applicants to sit an admission test and then attend an interview.)
For other decent MEng in Mech (the related Aero, Automotive orGeneral) Eng courses, including but not limited to Bath, Bristol, Manchester, Southampton, UCL, Warwick (in alphabetic order), the typical offer is A*AA, and other may require further that A* is in either Math or Phy.
To play safe, it's recommended to include a course requiring AAA (e.g. KCL, Sheffield) or below in UCAS so that in case you do not receive offers from Oxbridge/ICL, you can put an A*AA one as your firm choice and another one with some lower requirements as your insurance. if you get an Oxbridge/ICL, then of course you can forget this AAA or below one.
