My daughter is now in KLN City HF, (P3)  but everyone said that the KLN Tong one is better than that one. What's the difference????

其實好難比較,因為我地呢度似乎冇一個媽咪有兩個小朋友分別讀兩間學校.我估程度係相若既,有分別但唔會大得好緊要.不如你又講下你對學校既睇法呀?

I have feeling like that they assigned too many homework for their student. Since they are on full day schedule...... Is it the same for the KLN Tong one ?? or all the schools in HK are the same.

(Im not a local HongKongnese........)

What do you meant by too many?  In Kln Tong HF, they have around 5-7 pcs homework everyday, which maybe more or less same as other local schools.  If compared to Int'l school, workload is of course higher.  

I feel that students from both HF primary are more or less of the same standard and culture, maybe the principal and teachers, campus, activities ..are different.

IC....the HF overall are not bad, is it a band 1 school in HK?

Should I send my daughter to Int'l school ??
I want her to learn more chinese, at the beginning is ok, but now she hesitate to speak to me in English and seems pretty enjoy in the enviorment that's full of Chinese.

我都係叩門入到的, 但我一定會讓女女入讀 . 因為, 這校是我一直心儀的 , 雖然, 我也有私校 BACKUP. 但這私小是沒有中學, 相反,  聖家雖然唔係百份百可以升讀 其中學, 但總有小小機會, 所以, 我校服都買好了 .  

你應該知道, 叩門都唔易入, 30 幾人爭幾個位 . 我女女那班都有好幾個同學仔叩門, 但他們連 INTERVIEW 機會都冇. 我地咁好彩有份 INTERVIEW & 成功入讀, 你要三思呀 !  

在我來說, 每間學校都有優點,  我寧可慳返 D 學費, 用在其他用途. 咁你上次有冇去開第一次家長會呀 ?

Its secondary school is band 1 English school.  Seems strange to me that your daughter is already studying in HF but it seems that you are not familiar with the school?    Which year is your daughter studying?

Studying in local or Int'l school really depends on your expectations and preference, it is not just the issue of learning in Chinese or English, the teaching approach, secondary school allocation are all different.

starting earliest 2007, the school can accept 30% students in round 1 (discretionary) from outside, so leaving 70% places (112) for round 2 only.

Its a decision from her father. My daughter started her P1 in HF at 02-03. But we divorced on the same year and my daughter moved back to stay with me in last year. Since her father doesnt had time to take care her.  I catched up with her school only at the end of her P2.

This comes from the new proposal for banding, secondary promotion arrangement by EMB, consultation has just finished by July 2.  It has been published for discussion since Feb this year la.  Schools can select higher % (from 20 to 30%) of their F.1 students in the first round in future.

其實聖家學校一向給我的印象都不錯, 而我把九龍城聖家為第三志願, 所以我決定去叩門, 我都諗住如果成功, 就會讓囡囡入讀, 但點之見完呢間學校既校長之後, 我就覺得好失望, 呢位校長比我印象就唔係咁好, 在面試過程中, 覺得佢好'求其',而且我亦問過其他朋友親戚, 佢地D囡囡係聖家讀緊或已升上聖家中學, 都話呢間學校麻麻地, 但也不是太差, 所以我考慮過之後, 都大多數會選擇私校比囡囡讀, 希望佢可以打好基礎.

Which aspect is the school 麻麻地?  You mean the principal? Academic results? How about the secondary school?  

Private schools should run better than govt schools as they are paid for.  It is very reasonable to take private school instead if you can afford the fee.
