My girl told me the teacher did asked, "What day is today?" in Mandarin. Teacher also imitated animal sounds and let children guess what animal was that. She said there were math questions like 2+3 = ?.  She also need to wrote "大一三明". There was no puzzle for her.

小兒亦己面試了, 問游泳及海的英文生字讀法, 及15, 20, 25, X.,  X是什麼等.  但有家長說如果優才面試OK﹐須要放棄中央派位資格及其他直資/私立學校的申請﹐ 你們意見如何 ? 是否值得 ?

Dear All

My daughter has one 貼紙 on her label, she told me her can ask the maths 3+3 =6.

She told me the teacher ask her what her name, why she take the small toy medoly together with her. she told the teacher that beacuse she is afraid so take the toy with her. the techer aslo ask her the english or chinese.

The teacher interview me and my husband around few minutes with two question. and we gave my daughter drawing for them to review.Do anyone think if the teacher take more time to interview mean more chance.

96 seats from 500 applicants, the chance is very low.

有家長說如果優才面試OK﹐須要放棄中央派位資格及其他直資/私立學校的申請

優才是直資學校, 所有的直資學校都是獲錄取而申請人又接受的話, 就要放棄中央派位(第二輪)資格的, 但參加官津學校的自行收生及報讀其他私立、直資學校應都不受影響. (當然, 如果決定接受第一輪官津學校或其他直資學校的 Offer, 一樣不能再 "攪珠", 而且也需放棄優才提供的學位)
有沒有家長知道優才第一階段會錄取多少名學生呢?

I was interviewed by a parent (I think). We spent 15-20 minutes answering 5-6 questions. The interviewer is friendly and nice, with smiling face.

They said the chance of being accepted depends mainly on the kid's performance. Parents should be friendly and open-minded, and easy to be talked to.

My daughter sat for interview for the primary section last week.

I read the information on their website introducing the secondary section. It is a through-train and the curriculum development progress from "Broad" to "Narrow" in gifted education i.e. whole school gifted education approach for all students in primary school, and then differentiated and accelerated learning in secondary school.

As far as I understand, G.T. school follows the Renzulli idea. That is, "all" students have the potential to become "gifted & talented" (?) . However, they must be diligent and eager to learn.

If the curruculum development plan works, secondary school students will have both broad-base education and focus learning in specialised fields.

Will the school have another interview in October ?

During the introduction, I remembered that the School Master said they will reserve some seats for second round candidates (may be after September).  Am I right? But, I also want to know how many seats for this round.  

Anybody know how many applicants on 3 Jul ?
