When did he pass the grade 1 exam?

I heard that HKAPA lecturer.......from $800-$1000/hr.

acceptable or not depends on the teacher's teaching skills ( and patient for young learners)and do u think it's worthy. You can post the name or surname here,some of us may know his reputation. My kid's  teacher is not HKAPA lecturer and still asking $900/hr for beginners. Therefore I think for HKAPA teacher, $800 is reasonable.

APA teacher HK$900/hr ???
My kid studying in APA and the rate should be ~HK$500/hr...
only heard a few teachers in hk can charge that rate but i don't think they will teach the beginners and also waste your money to follow them if you are beginners (grade 1-5)...
better get a teacher with patient and experience to young kids are much more important !
high rate didn't mean good at all in my exp !

I believe if the child is a serious learner, it's important to have a good and proper start, meaning the teacher is very important.
The bow and stroke techniques are extremely important. Even the way how the child is taught to hold the bow is important. Students of the string dept. taking lessons at the APA cannot select the teachers of their choice. The music office assigned the teachers to them. These teachers are qualified to teach beginners (though some on the list teach only older students).  Some charge more for their own students (not from apa), some charge less, because they have different training backgrounds. But in general, good teachers are expensive regardless where they are from, because they also came from renoun music institutes and most of them have international exposures. What is important is to find someone with very good experience and patience to teach young beginners.

她學了兩年就可以考grade 4 嗎?  還是兩年前已考 grade 3. 用兩年準備 grade 4呢 ?
仔仔學了 14個月才去考 grade 1 呀!

囡囡係小一開始學小提琴, 到而家岩岩學左兩年, 用左大概六個月時間準備.
