I ususally borrows books from library and I liked a series of books named DOG CLIFFORD. The stories are interesting and the English is quite simple.

Sometimes I do buy books for my son like Easy to Read Level 1 & 2, Thomas series, and etc.

Recently I found my son can pronounce some words even we didn't teach him before.

your son is great, he likes to read book and can pronounce the words, it means his observation is good, he learns all the times.

Your girl is good too as she can recognise a lot of Chinese words. Actually I think each kid has his or her own strengthness.

My son learnt the followings when we went out together:
- fasten your seatbelt
- pick up and drop off area
- no exit or board when the door is closing
- no playing or walking on escalators
- mind the gap
- no eating or drinking in trains and etc.

So you may read the words to your girl whenever you come across them.

Two little lazy birds are sitting on the wall,
one named Peter,
one named Paul,
fly away Peter, (open the left side worksheet)
fly away Paul, (open the right side worksheet)
come back Peter, (close the left side worksheet)
come back Paul.(close the right side worksheet)

Correct it if anything wrong!
My girl sound "lazy" to be "dicky", i don't know what's that? Am i wrong?

i saw this from the Mother Goose vcd. it sounds like one little "dicky/diggy" bird, not "lazy" bird. ^0^  TingTing knew this before, and she didn't sing this for a long time, so i don't know the school is teaching this right now. i will ask her tonight. thanks again.

My girl also read this poem to me last week. If what tweety彤媽 said is the original version, my girl only got 50% right.

I don't know what bird she said!!!  
     little bird sitting on the wall.

We don't have a work sheet, instead my girl use her arm to show 'fly away' and 'come back'.  In addition to these, she also has 'Go away Peter.'

hi my son can understand english better than chinese.he can sing the english poems but not chinese! I think he is not liking the school because he can't understand the chinese. I tallk to the teacher she says the english teacher is only in class for a while not the whole time, whereas the chinese teacher is there for whole time.can anyone clarify this? I thought both would be in the classroom all the time!

I'm careless mom, i forgot to read the rhymes book, so i misunderstanding the word "lazy" and "dicky".

my girl also sing the "this little pig went to market......" which she show me in the rhymes book. she uses her five fingers to repersent those five little pigs.

my girl's case is same as your son's. she said that she loves the English teacher and she talked to the English teacher a lot, but she doesn't like the chinese teacher. I think she doesn't understand what is the chinese teacher talking about. I told her must love  all the teachers. she said she will love the chinese teacher later.

Your son is correct.  English Teacher doesn't stay in the class all time.  For the Chinese one, she will leave when English Teacher is teaching.
