我都打算之後買補充練習比佢呀, 不過呢個test應該都趕唔到lu....

My son behaves the same as yours when he's reading one passage a day.  I almost get angry everyday as he does not really pay attention to reading & understanding the passage.

If Chinese comprehension is included in the test, then it's a problem.

呀仔話老師派左英文測驗卷...佢寫LIBARY分開左少少, 比老師扣左0.5分...否則佢就唔洗做改正了.....

已經叫咗個女做完功課同exercise要對清楚先好交,但係佢就係唔記得(唔做) ... 講到口都乾.唉,真係激到暈低.
其實"每日一篇"都幾深 ... P1學生應該唔係咁易理解.

As some of you may know, my son is in p.2. now. We were the same situation as all of you. But now, the careless mistakes are even more. At this moment,  I'm asking him to do more exercise (that's why I can read BK now )
For all hints:
- normally the comprehension in test is not so difficult as "a passage a day". But even though they could make a lot of mistakes in the 1st test
- "a passage a day" is really helpful to improve the kids Chinese capability, even though I think there is room for improvement for "a passage a day".
- the supplementary ex. is useful too, as we mention, practice makes prefect. I bought these ex. after I realized from the test result.

Agree!  Practice makes perfect and the kids need to read more chinese books too.

It seems like chinese a relatively weak subject  for many P1 pupils.  Let's work hard together to brush up their Chinese!

我今晚都同仔仔玩字卡作句....同埋"迫"佢做左一篇"每日一篇"。

另外想問下, 有冇邊個出版社既閱讀理解好呀? 大家介紹下啦!

而我上次書展, 就只係買左英文閱讀理解同埋英文數既文字題比呀仔, 都ok架! 反而中文呀仔死都唔肯比我買.....家下我要偷偷地買左返黎, 再同佢講數

Yes.. agree practicing lead to improvements.  However, the kids seem to be very busy everyday.  Is it possible for them to take up extra exercise?

Though there are not much homework for TSL, I found that my daughter still needs 45 mins - 1 hour to complete the homework + corrections everyday.  If there is no Chinese homework, the required time can cut into half.

My daughter likes to do the "One Passage One Day".  She likes to check the ranking everyday.

exercise...我仔都ok...佢極愛做exercise...一本英文45篇既閱讀理解可以兩日攪掂, 數學2B既佢都係兩三日又攪掂...我地又冇出去學野...星期六應該都可以比佢做下既....但中文既龜速.....唔知一日做到幾多篇......
我都覺得....佢地中文功課做得好慢 我仔有時要做下玩下兩個鐘先做完....

Yes. practice make it perfect.  

但亞仔做野勁 hea, 就算無咩homework, 都做好耐,
都唔知點對佢好!!!!!!!!!!

I also found "每日一篇" quite difficult.  The web-page design is not user-friendly enough for small kids like my son to get focused.  We asked him to try some P1 level chi. compreh. exercises last night and he seemed to be doing fine.  Maybe they were just too simple?  I guess we will find out a lot of surprises (both pleasant and unpleasant) after seeing their test papers!  
So next year the school will use PTH to teach chinese, is it going to be better or worse for their chinese-learning?  
Anyway, a friend who is a chi teacher told me that reading is the key to build up their vocabularies, especially since they cannot use phonics to pronounce the characters.

今日一樣功課都冇....呀仔好HAPPY 其實我都唔明...上星期又測英文, 聽日又測英文...唔知係咪都同樣計平時分呢? 定係聽日果個至算? 而且會難D?

唔知會唔會派返D卷黎比家長睇下自己小朋友"衰咩"呢?

Tomorrow should be just English workshops, NOT tests, right?  Don't scare me!  My son needs to hand in an english WS tomorrow.

Oh really?  Maybe different classes are doing different things.  They need to bring a hand-made "family mobile" which (we thought) may be used for the English workshops tomorrow.  No mentioning of any story-telling or Q&A according to my boy.

family mobile好似早幾日已經比左佢地, 不過我唔知我仔整好未...好似話下星期先帶返去, 我都唔係太記得。

一陣呀仔12點左右返到去, 我打去問下佢今日做左乜先。

你地班之前係咪都做左english test 1? (有帶返黎簽名架)
