Actually, my son is learning violin outside.

oic.  If you want your boy to join school's orchestra, it seems that you'd better to enrol this music class from P1.  Joining orchestra is of course a very very good thing !!

Yes but boys' performance are always unpredictable

eg. my son knew all words at home when I did revision for dictation with him, but he made careless mistakes in dictations as usual.  This week's English dictation, 'water bottle', he didn't make mistakes at home but wrote 'water better' at dictation

Can't expect anything for the tests then at least I won't be very disappointed.

一切隨遇而安吧！諗真d﹐緊張也無用﹐因為去做份測驗卷是他﹐我們亦未練到〝腦電波搖控代答！〞
雖然咁諗﹐但心底都係有緊張的！

我好有同感！:( 我個仔都係學緊鋼琴一樣課外活動，無補習，逢星期日望彌撒，做功課溫書算快，我都覺得唔夠時間用。每日放工返到屋企要即刻食飯然後沖涼，阿仔就係診呢段時候做功課同溫書，等我一搞掂就幫佢睇功課同佢溫習 (遇着課文有網頁可供參考，佢又一定要上網睇吓)，然後上中文8寶箱，重要上內聯網循例check吓有無野 。全部都要做足，又唔可以求其，因為都想培養佢有野唔清楚時要自己搵參考。最後重要聽佢講當日發生嘅事，玩左啲咩，識左咩新同學，老師講過咩。一定要聽又一定要反問以示我係關心。遲啲再多啲功課，教嘅野再深啲時，我都唔知點算‧‧‧

We share the same experience !!
But I have one more item than yours... The half an hour story time before sleep. Usually, when all the things done, my son could sleep at aroung 23:30..... You will not wonder why he wake up at 10:30 in next morning, and then prepare to have lunch (no breakfest 1), and get on the school bus.....

Is there any mum could share your son's schedule to help us to re-arrange the time schedule?

Didn't spend much time with Internet these days as being engaged with office work.

For the VA, kids at 1F didn't have their master piece returned.  God knows how much he had scored.  At least I have one less subject to worry.

My kid usually spend two to two and a half hrs on his homework and usually leave him alone and let him to do it by himself.  Turns out I have to erase 2/3 of his homework and had it redo again.  I'm sure that it waste a lot of our time (kid and mine).  Yet, I hope by such practice, leaving him alone, he could, before summer break, take care of all his homework by himself.

Kid have couple of activities and all of them spend an hour per week.  That's include soccer, swimming, piano and Putungwah.  And yes, he had to attend mass on every Sunday.  Fully packed?  Depends.  

As for the upcomming quiz, my kid told me that teachers will read the questions to them so that they (students) have ideas what's it all about.  So, I guess that's a relief for some of us.  It's really lucky that the quiz only drag for a week and not being extend to next week.

May all of them tried their very best on the quiz.

其實佢地如果真係比心機做一樣野(做功課&溫習)真係可以好快,好好!不過有時又鬧下情緒,又話累,先要做成個幾兩個鐘,砌模型
砌puzzle又唔見佢地呀累,不知幾有心機.

兩個鐘做功課?有時唔止o添 !!
補習當然冇啦!! 教仔o係我嘅責任/天職,如果我教唔掂應該o係我去補習點去教他,有時間俾多o的佢去玩仲好啦 !!玩o係佢嘅權利喎 !
何況去補習嘅時間o係我嘅親子時間,仲咩要俾咗其他的人呢?

我個人都唔係好讚同去補習在現階段，　我唔想小朋友一教酲來就換衣服返補習，and then go to school , after school go home to take the dinner, bathing and doing the homework , go to sleep for 5 days in a week. It is very boring life for any kid. No childhood life. One day, I told my son to do harder and harder and I will sent he to 補習 if he don't pay attention. It is no time to play with me or talk with me.  He is crying.
    I understand some parents want to sent their kid for learn more and more. But I think the boy is too busy and tired. They just 6 or 7 yrs old.  Let us more time to adapte the P1 life first.
      Last Sat, my son and I had studied the Chinese at night. I request he to do 2 page more before sleep and then he 想發脾氣　，　我當然先發制人，　佢唯有坐係到，　我看見佢係到飲泣，　我覺得d細路好可憐．　我只好叫佢訓，

very agree.  Don't let them feel pressure at this stage / age.  Otherwise they will think study is not a happy thing to enjoy and will have negative feeling about studying.  This will be the worst thing.

I won't let my boy to lose his childhood happiness.  Yesterday we also enjoyed a happy lunch outside.  He goes to interest classes he likes --> drawing and tennis on weekends.  

Though I felt disappointed about his marks and careless mistakes he made in dictations sometimes, I didn't show my disappointment to my boy.

Nowadays parents are very poor.

My son's daily schedule:

Mon-Fri (0900-1100hrs) 補習班 then back home "hea" and lunch untill (1220hrs) walk to school.

Tue after school (1730hrs) - Piano for half an hour
Fri after school (1730hrs) - Kumon - Maths & Chinese (1 hour)

He will started his homework before dinner at 1900hrs and continue after dinner.  If only 4-5 homeworks, it could be finished before 2000hrs.  Then he can "hea" for 30 mins, after that will started study and go to bed before 2330hrs.

Sat (1 hour) - Musical Workshop at St. Joseph's(start in Nov)
Sun (1100-1200hrs) Art Learning. (will give up soon cos too many things to learn). (1200-1300hrs) English - Phonic. (1500-1600hrs) Swimming class. that's all for his busy week.

too many things lar.... so will be reschedule again in December.

我聽佢讀書: 約8.40-9.30
自行處理佢個portfolio: 約9.30-9.45
玩中文8寶箱: 約9.45-10.00
內聯網: 約10.00-10.15
親子時間 (主要係傾計,攬吓佢): 約10.15-10.30
工人姐姐協助洗澡: 約10.30-10.45
而我就趁呢段時間抱吓個細仔.....
