今晚2/3年級家長會, 經校長巧妙安排之下家長完全沒機會發問問題, 不過這不違是一件好事, 因為在短短數十分鐘, 你估校長可以解答多少問題, 是否能給與每位家長滿意答覆呢? :tongue:  

不過反而另一安排我就很滿意, 家長分班回到自己小朋友班房與班老師見面對話, 與及家長互相認識.

很感恩班老師是一位有活力及關心小朋友的好好老師.   

另薜老師今年回來教中文, 可惜只教二年級, 自己小朋友今年無願被她教授. 回看去年她離開前留下的教學Worksheet, 看出她是一位很盡責及很有條理地處理教學Worksheet.     無論如何, 她能回真道任教已是好事件!!

Ms. Sit is my daughter's Homemaster when my daughter was in FS1 (now my daughter is in DS3).  Ms. Sit always works wholeheartedly and cares for students.  Welcome Back!!!  

  

Do any parents recall that Ms. Sit taught our children to sing a song (in fact a Chinese poem) in one lesson (maybe in FS2, if I recall correctly)?  The song is 鳥:

Yes, Principal Y is smart. The entire discussion was well planned. Though Principal Y did not offer us a chance to raise questions, he managed to clarify the majority of our concern, with the exception of the school bus issue. The introduction of the faculty is a “must”, in my opinion. I'm happy to see the teaching faculty being the strongest ever since the school's establishment. I do look forward to seeing more quality teachers join Logos in the years that follow. The return of Miss Sit won a big applause from the audience, especially from the parents whose kids were in FS2 last year. In fact, there has been hearsay during the summer holiday that she would be back for the new school term. No doubt, her return is definitely beneficial to everyone. She possesses all the distinct qualities of an excellent teacher. In general, I agree that the meeting was a good one despite there may still be dissatisfaction among some parents whose stance differs from our principal.
I agree with rogerc and cow that the school is turning to be more academic driven. Given the explanation by the principal that our kids would eventually have to take both the IBD as well as the open exam under the new system of 334, I can understand the need for the school to start preparing them as early as the DS level. What I don't understand is, why do the kids have to take 2 open exams (within a period of 6 months) in their 11th year?  From my perception at present, I think this is too much for them. Well, only the educators know best. Yet, Principal Y failed to reiterate his plan of becoming a member of the IBO.
Would any parents like to share your view on the 8th session, the criteria of class split, and, 2 open exams in the 11th year?  Thanks.

我的女兒亦是就讀於真道, 我錯過了家長會, 可不可以告訴我校長講了些什麼呢?
我在這裡看到, 有些家長對加長返學時間的意見, 請問校長有沒有講解實際的目的呢? 因為我也不是很清楚, 女兒只說了要加長時間. 但是很多時候都是看戲或自修, 所以我都不是很讚成加長時間, 我情願女兒早點回家, 休息多點. 因為她每天由起床返學到放學回家, 差不多共 12 小時, 實在太長了!

I am not conviniced that Principal Y knew what he was talking about.  Students taking IBDP exam and 334 examinations in the same year?  It sounds carzy.  IBDP and 334 examinations are entirely different.  And, taking IBDP exam w/o IBO's accreditation???  He must have access to some secret information.

Hi tingtingting and Logos parents,

For the IBO's accreditation, I recalled that Principal Yau had told us (Parents) that he would not join the IBO at that moment (about 1 - 2 years ago).  The reason was that the school have to pay fee to the IBO bureau after join in.  As there is no immediate need to take the exam, he would rather join it later, might be a few years (I forgot the exact year he had mentioned) before the first Logos student's to attend the IBO exam.

Yes, I also recalled our principal's words 2 years ago but I wanted to find out the situation now. At the time, if I recall correctly, our principal had said that Logos would apply to the IBO in 2008. But I believe it casuses no harm to let us know his plans since the process would take some time before we can obtain the accreditation.   Wonder if the parents of DS2 & 3 could find that out tonight?

Dear deniset,

Agree your point.  I believe most parents want to know the status update for key projects like "IBO application plan", "new campus", "campus extension", etc.  It will significantly affect the growth of Logos as well as our boys and girls.

My daughter loves Ms Sit also.  Ms Sit was her Chinese and homeroom teacher in FS2.  She did pretty well in Chinese that year.  My daughter is in DS3 this year.  I remember the song and heard it when there was open class.  I must tell my daughter the good news.  However, I doubt if Ms Sit will teach the DS class since she is not a native mandarin teacher.
