我4月30號去見咗"蕊展計劃"，經過觀察仔仔係幾典形的亞氏保加症．雖然上堂嘅地方遠啲，但覺得佢地好有心；雖然計劃只係第二年，同只專注在小朋友社交方面，但我覺得找到針對仔仔情況的社交training會比一般EQ班有效．其他的例如職業治療總可以在其他地方找到，而我真的擔心仔仔升小學後社交會係一個大問題．我真的希望可以透過這個計劃不單將小朋友放在一起學習，我相信家長走在一起亦可以分享一下，學習一下好可能可以幫到更多的小朋友．希望有機會一切上堂啦！

很多自閉症的小朋友也有這個情況，即口腔非常敏感。所以他們很多時會有嚴重偏食、不肯咀嚼、不肯刷牙、甚至說話時為減少動作而"lue晒啲音"。

可以試試戴上手套(去燒烤時用的那種透明的便行)，用食指按摩牙肉及臉頰內側。先由門牙開始，沿著牙肉以打圈動作慢慢伸入，直至最後一隻牙的位置。臉頰也是由咀角開始。如果擔心被咬，可以用bb"牙刷"(冇毛的，像迷你流星鎚那種)。

平時把蘋果/青瓜等切長條，放到臼齒位置(蘋果條與牙齒排列的方向一樣)，讓孩子咬。

可於新達廣場坐巴士275(由總站)到總站香港教育學院下車,再走進去,如坐的士可直入教育學院,到教院的幼兒園才下車

由2年前開始仔仔已經沒有接受職業治療了, 他的脾氣和不專注和社交是我最大的頭痛 !!! 我也希望能夠和你一起上堂並且互相交流一下呢..

巴士275由大埔火車站新達廣場開，經大埔中心，直達教育學院門口，全程約24分鐘另有．專線小巴26號馬鞍山(海柏花園) 開教育學院總站，詳細路線可以上網check．

由大門入經ABCD block，見到運動場轉左，之後到宿舍就見到有蕊展嘅指示牌．蕊展office就喺幼兒園樓上．

asperger雖然多數無speech delay，但都有語言問題．例如仔仔入K1時講嘢都好鸚鵡仔，好多字都識讀但就無時無候，見到咩鍾意就讀，而家同佢去買嘢最鍾意讀sales姐姐啲名，氹到啲姐姐鬼咁開心但又無discount    而家都有見言語治療師，好彩係一路都有進步．

根本Asperger與自閉症就是有很多重覆之處,兩者是否真的有分別已是一個永恆的問題...可能DSM-5又會大改...見下文:

According to the DSM-IV, children with Asperger's disorder do not have significant cognitive or speech delays, whereas children with autistic disorder may or may not. In our study, children with normal intelligence who had clinical diagnoses of autism or Asperger syndrome were divided into two groups: those with and without a significant speech delay. The purpose was to determine if clinically meaningful differences existed between the two groups that would support absence of speech delay as a DSM-IV criterion for Asperger's disorder. No significant differences were found between the 23 children with a speech delay and the 24 children without a speech delay on any of the 71 variables analyzed, including autistic symptoms and expressive language. Results suggest that early speech delay may be irrelevant to later functioning in children who have normal intelligence and clinical diagnoses of autism or Asperger syndrome and that speech delay as a DSM-IV distinction between Asperger's disorder and autism may not be justified.

1. 以你個人經驗，喺咩情況下先會畀asperger呢個diagnosis呢？

1. 老實講,如果真係"證據確鑿"的話,我會寫做"高能力自閉症"-對我來說,現時氾濫的Asperger diagnosis只是一個hype,我會情願用一個大家有點共識的label.

2. 如果你細心看DSM-4的寫法,言語遲緩只是其中一項評量準則,but not a must-如果數夠point一個自閉症diagnosis是可以沒有言語遲緩的.

Dear Dr. T,

May I ask what is the difference between a "High-functioning Autism" and an "Asperger"?

Besides, do you think "weak in emotional control" is a symptom of autism/ asperger? In other words, can I say autistic kids are less able to control their emotion than the normal kids?

I'm very worrying about that because my daughter is very weak in emotional control.

Dear Dr T and sjmama,
My child has developmental delay problem.  However, he can control his emotion at school or outside quite well.  At least, he does not cause too much trouble to his trainers.  If he does not like to do something outside, he just says so.  He may throw tantrum at home, but it is under control.  Some trainers comment that it is ABNORMAL at his age as they worry that he buries every unhappy event in his mind and may BURST when he grows older.  They recommend some EQ training courses for him.  He has finished one of them and I don't think it can help him so much.  

All I can do is to talk to him everyday to let him express his unhappy feelings.

Do you think that my child is abnormal?  What should I do for him?  Thanks.
