May I suggest you to apply for the new post of the "Marketing Director" of TSL??  

Even though the number of applicants may exceed 3,000, I don't think any other candidate can beat you in this post!!

i'm not even close to where your statue is in this forum...

however, if the number of posts may consider as an advantage to get into the school... then i may work harder to make 10 times more during this period before the interview date!!!!

拔萃女小學，共接獲一千七百份2010學年小一入學申請表，學額一百0八個，大約16人爭一個學位。

拔萃男書院附屬小學，現時已接獲二千二百份2010學年小一入學申請表，學額一百五十個，大約15人爭一個學位。

聖保羅男女中學附屬小學，共接獲近二千一百份2010學年小一入學申請表，大約14人爭一個學位。

聖保羅書院小學，共接獲一千零六十四份2010學年小一入學申請表，學額九十六個，大約11人爭一個學位。

Well, it is very likely that the same group of kids are applying for the same batch of schools, and remember, everyone will only go to 1 school at the end.

well, assumed that it's true, so let's do the math:
total applicants of that 5 top schools then: (3000+1700+2200+2100+1064)/5=2013pers
available places of these 5 top schools:175+108+150+150+96=679places...
finally it's just 3 children for 1 place.....
do i make it right?!?!?!?
suddenly, i do feel much better!!!

( however, personally i didn't apply all these school for my son... does my kid count as in the same group of the others? )

I don’t think you will apply for DGJS for your son, even though they might consider your son’s application as a special case!!   

gingerale’s main point is that there are quite a number of applicants who will apply for P1 seats to more or less the same group of DSSs and private schools every year.
It is not uncommon for many kids to apply for 5 or even more schools so the total number of applicants eventually addes up to be numbers you mentioned here.
Before the new school term starts in September or even in the first 1-2 weeks of the new school term, the game of musical chairs will start every year.

係兩小時之前，我發現咗原來我同real principal,.....,千祈唔好誤會呀！因為係唔會影嚮面試結果！hahahahaha.............

我个女都系報左TSL 一間， 其它的都無報。

可能是因為網上申請太過方便， 所以甘多人申請。

但吾知道interview會考咩哩？ 聽講都會幾深下， 例如問下特別首系邊个， 政務司又系邊个...spelling 會問dinosaur 等等。。
