My son also have examination in Nov.  But he can only practice piano twice a week.  I don't know whether he has enough abilty to pass this exam.

我女上年考 Grade 3, 考試前都只係 keep 住一星期一堂課, 但練習就要每日;  臨近 2 個月, 每日起碼都要練上一小時以上, 遂 part 跟佢練        .

彈 scale 好似好難,點樣可以雙手協調到呢?

Dear Ming,
My son take the Grade 2 exam on today.
But he said he take the mistake in scales parts.
Due to he is very afraid , after he play 2 scale major the examinator ask him to play the D major , he sudden change to play Arpeggios . The examinator said No ! No! No!( She is a old lady) Then he play the correct one and said  no mistake on other scale part.
He siad he think no mistake on pieces also , Aural Parts is OK, and Sight Reading he play 2 notes wrong.( But I can't belive it as he is  very poor on it, his teacher take the pre-exam to him , he only get 9 marks) .
As Your Experience , Did  you know the mistake on scale parts will let him fail in exam ?
I am OK but he is very very sad and seem to cry after exam.

Do a lot of single hand practice first.  Practice both hands slowly and little by little.

If you actually look at the AB statistics for 2004, a very small percentage fail at each grade:

1: 2%
2: 3%
3: 3%
4: 5%
5: 6%
6: 7%
7: 8%
8: 9%

不知是否可信,但最少沒有人反駁.
老師叫得你/妳去考,應該都沒有問題.雖然2級約只有3%fail, 但當然不可以輕視.放心啦.
註:小女八月中考,四星期就收到分紙.

Hi Ming2,

My daugther will attend Grade 1 exam in Nov. If she pass, when is the suitable time to attend Grade3 or Grade4 exam.
